Maybe it's time FIFA puts in rules for host nations. Ofcourse, convicted athletes can be disbarred by the host. But allowing every country to use criteria such as character, pending trial etc to exclude athletes diminishes the sport. Perhaps each host country must be obliged to issue special temporary visas to athletes for the duration of the event, after they are cleared by FIFA. Partey has not been convicted of any crime. Also he is not seeking to visit or stay in Canada. To deny him results in collective punishment of team Ghana in this tournament.

They British FA couldn’t get their way through the US authorities, hence they throw monkey wrench to the Canadians to take care of that , making sure that happens anyway…

It’s all an act of fear from the British FA perspective…

You will notice that this will be resolved .. allow Party to enter on temporary clause but then the damage had already done that he Thomas can not be factored into the game plan
..
Meaning the coach had already figured out an alternative plan to be used hence it’s too late to alter the plan and configure Thomas into the game play anyway.
