  Well ,I will advise that whilst the controversy re Cocoa Price goes on whether justified or unjustified ---to me it is unimportant--However what must be seriously tackled is the GALAMSEY MENACE effect on the Cocoa Industry. COCOA is the backbone of the Economy of GHANA--[Agriculture is the Health of an Economy]The GALAMSEY MENACE must be STOPPED --to save the production of Cocoa and other food products. The only effective measure left to deal with the GALAMSEY destructive effect on the Agriculture land is to disallow artisanal small scale mining operations across the length and breath of the country immediately for a foreseeable period. This interim period to be used to bring the devastated Agriculture land ,Forest reserves and polluted Water Bodies back to LIFE by a serious national TREE PLANTING exercise. .Parliament must enact a LAW to BAN any artisanal small scale mining ---violation of the BAN must attract a severe penalty even death sentence by firing squad. Presently a declaration of a state of emergency to stop all small scale mining activity will be in order. To date measures taken to STOP the GALAMSEY MENACE are laughable---lackadaisical and wasteful .Foolishly the greed of gold has clouded the mind of both the government and the environmental terrorist whilst this GALAMSEY MENACE is killing us ALL softly and slowly.
