I remember Appiah Menkah telling participants at a confab in Alexandria, VA. during Kuffours term when "we" met to choose his successor that Ghana SHOULD WIN the AFCON, because winning it would dramatically improve "our" chance of retaining power.
Oh Well, we didn't win, and we lost power.
The NPP were in power for 8 CONTINUOS years. In sports, Nothing much happened during these eight years, and nothing much after "we" were rightly kicked out of power.
What happened during these 8 years is that 100% of party apparatchiks got rich. Is there an NPP MCE or DCE who didn't build a home during these 8 years?
If there is, find a way to contact Ghanaweb, and I will give him/her ONE MILLION CEDIS!
Most of the monies to be invested in sports were invested in their pockets and businesses. The LEGON stadium is one issue.

What I am trying to put across is that SPORTS and POLITICS are bedfellows.
Check YouTube for old videos of Ghana beating Jamaica in Track and Field. And not too long ago, Azumah, Kotei, etc. etc carried the flag of Ghana very HIGH in boxing.
Now Ghana is "behind" in all spheres of sports AFTER NPP got the chance to "reign".
If you take out Atta Mills 4 years, the NPP had 16 of the last 20 years ...and sports has kolapassed right before our eyes....not just football alone.
MAHAMA you have work to do....
BUT make sure the NDC apparatchiks don't take a leaf from the NPP model and BUILD houses and businesses before using the surplus to help the country.

If both Kurt Okraku and Randy Abbey don't resign, Ghanaians should also boycott all Black Stars games. Ghana supporters have a voice and power.
Under Kurt Okraku's and Randy Abbey's leadership in the GFA for 7+ years, we no longer have a functional colts structure that should feed our league and national teams with the right talent, and therefore, we have to go foreign each time. The foreign Ghanaians don't play with each other long enough to build a strong team so that is a big issue.
The GFA leadership is doing nothing about it so Kurt Okraku and Abbey must be removed. In fact, they don't even think there is a problem at all. Sacking Kurt Okraku, Randy Abbey and dissolving the GFA should be the first order of business. The constitution of the GFA must also be amended to reflect that no one associated with the GFA should or can own a national team. Can you imagine if the FIFA President owned a football team?
