My bro, while commending our president for his modest achievments on the Macro - economic front, the truth needs to be told that, your own backyard savannah and Northern Ghana more generally which sorely needs a uplift is far from realization by this government. Realistically, Mahama has two, if not one and half years to go. But can you point to me any structural change in terms of development that he has brought any project and new idea that translates positiively for your village and your part of the country? The big push projects that are nation-wide entail, reconstructing and regraveling colonia and early independence era road networks. Even that front is lagging and were you to be in Ghana today traveling from Bamboi to Wa, you will be surprised to see that things are worst of than during the 1980s. By far the most radical trannsformative idea bandied about is the Takoradi-Hamile Railway; this has a potential but this is not something that can be realized, knowing the records of dithering by Mahama and the NDC. Go to East Africa, and see how the region is leveraging the easy access to global capital toward development of ports and railways and institutions. I am afraid that the political capital enjoyed by Mahama since the election is now fully spent with nothing to show for any radical development in that cindrella region of the country. It's good to throw out figures etc but real developments requires concrete and enduring institutional and physical transformation. The constitutional review is yet to be realized with doubts cast at it effectiveness by a council of state that is not in tune with global trends. As at now, the flood situation in accra has shifted the attention of this government away from any broad base transformation of the country. Please!!
