Very well, --quite interesting --taken it as a dissertation-I would say that in truth the two main systems of government DEMOCRACY & Socialism--both by design achieve same result---as much as we have program our mind to accept that D & S are dissimilar -just take a moment consider two sailors leaving Kenya in EAST AFRICA by boat ---they both have to return to their starting point in KENYA but one sails westward whilst the other sails eastward---[meaning going around the world]to make it back to that starting point in KENYA.---Both sailors successfully achieve the goal though each took opposite direction.
Exactly --that is the way Democracy and Socialism works ---Under both systems --there is representation at the Governmental level--in all respect the representation is by election--selection or whatever one may term it ---it is not autocratic.
Let us appreciate that whilst we talk about this systems of government as being foreign introduction to our African society----we must debunk that NOTION------about time AFRICA asserts itself--we Africans must be assertive---let the world know that AFRICA was first and that AFRICA is still the first---Remember they once erroneously claimed that a British explorer J H Speke discovered the source of the River Nile--whereas it was the Natives Africans who led him to see the source of the River Nile. We African have always applied all this systems of Governments before even the Europeans-----Anthropology will tell you the indigens ,the Khoekhoe people of SW -Africa were practicing Socialism way back---Julius Nyerere will tell about UJAMAA---in the courts of ours ancient Rulers the Mansa Musa , Mansa Sulayman , Osei Tutu , AYI Kushie , King Sakite and others --all had a refined democratic forms of Government
