  I patiently read the whole report to the end, especially because I was 10years old in June 1939 when a terrifying earthquake shook the coastline of Ghana, particularly Accra. To me, such an incident was rare, but my grandmother had experienced a similar occurrence before because she shouted that everyone should go outside!
  I had been interested in earth movements since then; I learnt later in school that "nature hates emptiness", and so been interested in volcanoes and caves etc. I am always fascinated by geology.
