i understand that the most painful torture that one who will discipline himself should have is a mental one.
My mother became the only breadwinner for the family when I was 13 years old.
She once gave me a heavy knock on the head once. That was my last and first physical punishment.
When we relocated to Accra in 1957 my mother use to sell agbelikaklo, smoked fish and later fresh fish from the Akosombo Dam.
My advice to me was that toto me kpor avese dzodzo be ya dzowo. In short a bird with short wings does not imitate the fly of a bird with long wings.
Whenever something happen to you as a result of your waywardness there is no one to assist me in begging on your behalf.
I am one who does not fear kane, but insults and advice get deep into my mind, so I don't do anything that will hurt my mother.
I never had friends and due to that I don't join bad companies.
So to me psychological punishment is the best for every child.

I took over 10 kids having no family relationship with me, the smallest one being 8 years at the time. They hailed from different families. I gave them love, I was firm, I was fair, I taught them to work hard, to be responsible, to be competitive, to love God...
As I speak, two are Ministers in their government, two are tech guys, doctors...

Managing a person isn't like any other, but it's a matter of passion, challenge and objectivity. You don't have to inflict pain to teach. Let kids understand, show love every second and let them see through your efforts!

All the statistics should children have worse outcome in care and foster homes than in their family homes.

Children don't come with manuals and what will fix one child would not work with other.

This fine print from you is surely not the real world.

All children need love, care but discipline.

Some of us were lucky to have special mums who knew what was right and never took lectures from these latter days liberal nonsense.

A hen steps on their chicks sometimes, but they don't kill them.
