  Massa, most people agree that the CJ’s reference to “the past eight years” was unfortunate and could reasonably be read as partisan. But the rest of your argument is overboard. Public events, political interactions or praise for institutional performance do not, without more, establish judicial capture or misconduct. The Supreme Court does not ordinarily try corruption cases or make the original findings of fact against public officials; it hears appeals and determines legal or constitutional questions. It is therefore misleading to suggest that the CJ could rule in favour of public officials found culpable of corruption without identifying a specific case and legal error. Criticise the CJ’s words, certainly, but the criticism must be factual, proportionate and free of political insinuation and wild imaginations.
