A child is a young person who has been born into society. Its society that develop the child into what he should be for his family, town, tribe and country.
A child is faced with two world outlook in society. Humanness and inhumanness. Society for its existence has laws, prohibitions, norms and taboos.
It is the duty of society to keep us all in order that has made the human society to outlive that of herbs, flocks and droves.
It is said that man is he who is born and did not die. He did not die, sot has to preserve society, take care of nature, which includes himself, fauna and flora.
In the primitive society where there were no schools, some people were delegated with the task of guiding every child into adulthood. Those were people of good character.
When man created religion, that task was given to priests who as a matter of fact were to instill discipline, patriotisms, courage and the ability to control oneself in children.
Some religions abuse the child by making him from infancy a slave in trall of society.
The duty of society is to open the horizon of knowledge, arts and science to every child, not depending on his origin.
The churches tried a lot to do that, but their preference for money does not give equal opportunity to every child to accumulate knowledge and skills, which society needs for its own development and stability.
The opportunity which no one paid for was therefore introduced in 1917 after the socialist revolution in Russia, when every child was offered the right to education.
Besides that the Communist Youth League was set up to develop in the youth a peculiar from of behaviour, nationalism and patriotism.
Thus from the cradle to death the Communist Party guides its members, instil in them discipline in all aspects of human endeavour.
Its a fact that countries that have youth organizations from the cradle attached to their parties are performing better than the rasputas, where there is no guidance.
Such societies are also left with enough time to seek ways and meant to make life better for the citizens, because less time is devoted for adult correction systems.
In the nutshell. I wish to say that I am proud to be a Young Pioneer.
In the 1970s to 1980s it was known as the African Youth Command.
The Command gave some of us the chance to meet true patriots like Kojo Botsio, Komla Agbeli Gbedema, Kofi Ameko, Juantuah, S.S.Baffour-Awuah, Lt. Owusu-Dzimah, Nyan Astante, (Captain) Komla Kudiabor, Comrade Davour, who passed away three weeks ago, Comrade Agyemang just to mention a few, it also enable us to meet leaders of national liberation throughout the world.
In the command, I did not hear and see those great men and women through the television and newspapers.
They were at our disposal to guide us, encourage and most of all tell us about the struggle for liberation of mankind.
