That is, having their various clubs of Europe that they play for, and the Black Stars. I understand they are the bread winners of their families, but think about Ghana as the stepping stone that landed in Europe and playing for you are earning as income. They must Ghana first so that we have something cooking.

Patriotism has become a HOLLOW word throughout the country and is impacting on our sporting activities too.What is the guarantee that players who refuse, on their own, to play for the Stars would perform well when begged to rejoin the team.We can only win cups if we are disciplined and committed. No football Coach takes part in the match, even in the penalty kicks when times are rough. Coaches only train, strategize and guide on to play, then they watch from trhe touch-line and give some quick directions. But REAL performance is in the hands of the 11 players, where DISCIPLINE and total adherence to what the Coach has imparted come into the reality check. May I beg, brothers, to consider that three players in their generation had the burdenn of lifting Ghana football to the heights it belongs to in the World, but could not, except for Stephen Appiah, who got the message and "killed himself" to achieve that goal for Ghana. The other two, and the most loved Michael Essien, got mixed up between glory, eugenism and blind following of father and god Coach Mourinho, and kept away from country. The third, Asamoah Gyan, out of indiscipline, impatience and precipitation, twice blew Ghana's chances away, even though we know football can be very cruel at times. He did not listen to Captain Appiah who perceived the "prophecy" being "fulfilled" during World Cup 2010 quarter-finals, but rushed to spoil Ghana's chances. He did not listen again to the young Dede Ayew and went on to spoil the chances again during Afcon 2012. We saw these from the television, and could not believe our eyes! Indeed, John, the watch-word now for success is DISCIPLINE, and I pray for Akwasi Appiah, and Maxwell Konadu, to prove the still doubting Thomases - pitifully refusing to emancipate themselves from their mental slavery -yes, to prove them WRONG at the end of the day! Meanwile, a very happy and blessed New Year to Ghana, and to you all! God bless our Homeland, GHANA!_

He is gíving every player the chance to showcase their talents. If does not win then it may be due to bad luck. Let us pray and rally behind the Black Stars.

Black Stars have been coached by Ghanaian born coaches in the past who despite their coaching pedigree (e.g. coach Afranie), did not win the African cup of nations. It isn't, and can not be that simplistic to bring the cup home if one is a Ghanaian born coach. Great Ghanaian born soccer tacticians and strategists need great players at the right time and place with some measure of good fortune to bring the cup home again. I see no reason why a foreign coach can't do the same too.

what happens to Tony Eghan...? I always ask. Fact is that,Bro.Kutu appointed both osam Duodu and Tony Eghan to coach the Stars for the Cup. None was a lesser figure so the coaches for Black Stars at the time were Osam Doudu and Tony Eghan or vice-versa...one can check the newsapers of those days.
