NPP must make sure of equal representation of all the ethnic groups in Ghana. Ashantis and Akyems can have total control of the party but they should not be surprised to stay in opposition for a long time.

This writer is one of the Ashantis who don't see anything good in people from the north. I think it is time for the few northerners who are members of NPP to leave the party. Saying that the choice of Dr. Bawumia did not help the party is a lie. Since when has NPP ever won five (5) seats in the northern region? They got ten (10) seats out of the 31 or so seats in the 2012 elections. NPP will remain in opposition forever if they continue to disrespect northerners. Mark it on the wall.

I also disagree with the author for portraying Bawumia's weakness in the North.As for me,I think Nana Addo made the biggest mistake by telling the electorate that he has nominated Bawumia to tap into his economic expertise.If you're going to nominate a running mate you must calculate his political advantage.Many people even said he should concentrate on those who could pull more votes and make Bawumia his Finance and Economic Minister but Nana did not listen.Prez Mahama quickly countered Nana Addo's move by bringing onboard the Governor of Bank of Ghana which neutralised Bawumia.Prez Mahama did not nominate Paa Kwesi Ammisah for nothing so it paid off.

The Northerners wanted to have a Northerner as a President and so all floating voters in the North voted for a Northerner.
I sincerely think NPP should concede for PEACE and for their own future electoral chances. But we have all made mistakes before. Once
you are in a corner, you tend to dig deeper and so Nana Addo wants a bigger mess as his inheritance or legacy to the NPP

Well, defeat hurts especially watching all your effort and resources go down the drain. Ghanaians should have the patience and the tolerance to allow the NPP to have its last kicks. The truth is the party did not anticipate losing as another possible option of the election which explains why they have not really come into terms of what happened. I could not agree with the writer more on why they lost and what is equally worth mentioning was their over reliance on Rawlings to do the job for them. The daily attacks on his own party, the Wayome saga etc. sent deceitful signals that made Nana to think the election was his for the taking even if he did not embark on any vigorous campaign. So Ghanaians, please understand him and the NPP, why it is extremely difficult to accept the verdict. On the other hand, it should be noted that that open opportunity does not by itself or necessarily translate into votes in Ghana.

They went on about all Northerners belongs to the odd jobs, and their fathers being nomadians, watchmen etc. Do you think insulting the same people whom they needed their votes will vote for them. Oh! Please everything is wrong with the NPP party. They should change their leadership and their tribalistic attitude, else they will never win an election. You mentioned their running mate who spent 5 months in the North, campaigning, he himself was indirectly being insulted by them, his crime of being a Northerner, I wander what he is doing in that party. God Almighty has shown them up for what they are, just common thieves and nincompoops. They have always done that, but this time they met a more astute group of campaign managers, who decided to scrutinise things in more detail.

Nemesis has caught up with them. They were hoping that the NPP group would just complain for a few days and "give it to God", as usual. This time around God said he had taken so much momesense from Ghanaians that they shoud go and do the right thing.

Now we also know where the thieves of Ghana are located. The Ghanaian taxpayer pays state officials hoping that they would do the right thing at all times. But no, some of our compatriots still live in the 17th ccentury. Free education did not make any dent in them.

NPP lost the elections due also to their belligerence and incitement of tribal conflict, the lack of grace and humility to admit mistakes nd apologise.

Nana Akuffo Addo has failed to exhibit leadership qualities, is seen as arrogant and aggressive, and lacks statesmanship. He comes across as someone who wants power at all cost, not to serve the nation.

This contrasts sharply with the humility, wisdom and statesmanship exhibited by late Prof Mills and his successor John Mahama.

NPP will continue to lose elections unless it becomes a truly national PARTY, and puts the interests of the nation above personal interest.

This their disbelief of losing a general election is what is hunting down the fortune of the NPP in such elections.They seem to have forgotten that in 2016 there would be another general election with which they would contest.This court case could affects the chances of the NPP in 2016,should they lose the case because the real Ghanians(Ghanians that decide a winner of general election, devoid of partisans alienation).

The writer should have added another paragraph on the fact that beside the free free things the npp also dwelt too much on their war mongering of all die die, yen aka duo,if ec fails to declare them winners the country would be turned into Afghanistan, Rwanda, gas and ewes in Ashanti region to be attacked and also since getting a weapon demands a license, their supporters should go in for fufu pestles to attack opponents and what have you.
With such dangerous messages how do you expect the peaceful silent voters to go in for you? Since independence,no Ghanaian politicians including military dictators ever used such unghanaian words to win votes in Ghana.
