After all, Mills was a Professor too, even if he was a social climber! And the poor who vote for the 2 parties are just fellow travellers on the lower rungs of the economic pile, even though some of them have royal backgrounds, not only commoner and slave backgrounds. Class awareness in Ghana is very vague at the moment. Ethnicity plays a much larger role in voter behaviour than class identification now.
Likewise, background of the Tsikatas, whose family rule over Srogboe, being members of the Royal Adzorvia clan just as Kojo himself, whose forebear was the richest Anlo during his times. Yes, he could afford to run his own private army and his exploits had been written about by James Moxon in his book on THE VOLTA LAKE....
BTW, the educationist mother of Kojo Tsikata, for instance, rose to head the school that is now OLA Secondary School in Ho during the colonial times, a post only white people were occupying then until stepped in as the first African to do so. Kufour's wife attended that school too, when it was in Keta, where OLA first was.

Right now, I'm not sure we've had a leader who really cared about the lives of the poor, the inefficiencies of our public institutions and corruption at different sectors of our social life. Years of governance by NPP, NDC and Nkrumah only led to acquisition of wealth and a fattening of our political elites whilst the gap between rich and poor continues to widen. Is this what representing the people really means? Sadly, you claim to want a united Africa OR Ghana, though in your estimation only those who've had a tough socialisation should rule. What we need is good leadership. I'm sure our current political leaders, including NPP, NDC, CPP and those fringe parties can offer what we deperately need.
