Afari-Gyan is over 70years now and has supervised elections in this country over the years, but that of this year, which took place at a time he is very much well advanced in age and therefore should have been his best during his years as EC boss, has rather turned out to be the most fraudulent and highly contentious in living memory. This is the most unfortunate piece of information ever churned out by anyone who claims he is a scholar. At best this is your opinion and can never be the categorical statement that you want to put out there. At best the issues are before the Supreme Court and until the same body comes out to describe the 2012 elections as fraudulent, it will be very unfair to make such proclamations. It is fair to defend your master, defend even with your blood you must do, Mr. Offei but that should not be at the price of running down an individual whose only crime is that he did not come out with a verdict which favors your party. Lets desist from going on this path of running down our heroes. Cease we are not direct beneficiaries of some of his decisions and actions

Win or lose Nana Addo, the quintessential democrat has declared he'll accept the verdict of the Supreme Court. It was the founder of the NDC who revealed to his stunned and captive ghanaian audience his aversion to democracy just before the nation's return to the democratic governance he and a bunch of nitwits forcibly took away from ghanaians. Democracy according to Rawlings would slow him down and would put the brakes on his journey to nowhere political agenda. It's ghanaians like Mr Rawlings who want to rule without seeking first the mandate of the people and who think they must have whatever they want no matter what anybody else thinks who joined the NDC in their numbers. They're ghanaians handicapped one way or the other,mentally, physically, intellectually, economically, emotionally, psychologically, etc and freeloaders who saw the NDC as their fast track to undeserved fame and success. They can't compete, they can't wait and they won't work on a level playing field but must have money and power through any means possible. This is the NDC. They hate democracy and the rule of law because they feel handicapped.

The original feature published by Papa Appiah was one of the most unfortunate write-ups about a Ghanaian politician ever to be published on Ghanaweb. Those of us who read it on this forum considered the author as an inexperienced pretender who rather admires Kwabena Agyapong and would probably like to benefit from Kwabena’s immense experience.

It is most likely the pay masters of Appiah are uncomfortable with Kwabena Agyapong when it comes to debating on the core issues that affect Ghanaians. In my view only a few of the NDC politicians would be willing to pitch their skills against Kwabena ….. Let those who have the brains to contribute on matters most pertinent to Ghanaian societies to do so without impediments. Crude, backward and filthy tactics are unnecessary. NDC intimidation will not work.

I would not have expected Justice Abeeku to respond to the original article in this manner. Most people dismissed and did not read it beyond the title.

We should stand our ground, be vigilante and not allow this unscrupulous bunch of people to drag us down to their level. Everybody knows which side has the best human participants.

I am shocked that this very uncivil article is coming from someone who is an Administrative Assistant to Mr. Kwabena Agyapong. The number one lesson they need to learn is that not all voters are NPP nor NDC supporters. This group of people are those who make the difference in our elections. See how close the last two elections were and you can continue to deceive yourself that your core supporters will win you an election. Lesson number two is that you cannot manufacture your own facts. Facts are facts and they are sacred. Mr. Afari Gyan is not over 70 years as you claim. The fact is he is younger than Nana Akuffo Addo. It is clear that Nana APPIA simply dislikes the political stands of Agyepong and the NPP. Is he really convinced that Felix Ofosu Kwakye and Tsatsu Tsikata and others did not deserve the the responses they got from Agyepong for their senseless attack on Nana Akuffo Addo concerning the false Oxford issue? He only called a spade a spade on those Newsfile programs. Additionally, Agyepong and the NPP's position on the alleged election fraud is based on unconverted evidence. APPIA may disagree with Agyepong, but I don't believe the personal attacks on Agyepong were called for in his article. Remember, Agyepong is not only good at stringing good grammatical sentences in a soccer match commentary for Appiah's amusement. He is dealing with serious national issues and should not be attacked this way, even if you disagree with his position.

Though Abeeku's generalizations against the NDC is not worthy, I see the actions of certain members of the NDC very appalling. The attack on the personality of Akuffo-Addo for suggesting a possible fee-free system was hardly met with reasonable arguments than insults. Our parties must be forced to concentrate on policies than on propaganda for our country's advancement.

In spite of that, Abeeku, I beg to differ; your reaction has over-stepped the boundaries of decency as well. Check this: "... However, whenever matters bordering on corruption are raised, your John Mahama instantaneously begin to urinate in his trousers and eases in his pants!!"

That is just too much! Two wrongs right no wrong! The man John Mahama is still the President of a sovereign state and that Office must be accorded due respect no matter what! Not until the SC comes up with a different description for that Office we must accept that fact whether we like it or not.
You know what you leave in your trail as you chart this course of reactions? You succeed in pushing some of us away from seeing who the better person is.

This is the statement you have difficulty in agreeing to prompting you to put forward an analogy of Kotoko-Hearts match which is woefully and glaringly irrelevant because whereas in the case of the latter, the referee will have an undiluted account of everything happening, from the time he blows the whistle, ably assisted by his Assistants who will immediately draw his attention to any infringements he might not have observed, the Electoral Commissioner on the other hand is oblivious of any "chicaneries" in the electoral process and must rely on the assured integrity of his Assistants or "Linesmen" which fortunately have no entrenched allegiance to him taking cognizance of the fact that, this is made of the electoral officials at each polling station augmented by agents of ALL POLITICAL PARTIES, the NPP not excluded. If I may not be misusing a political concept, I can unashamedly pronounce that the PRINCIPLES OF CHECKS AND BALANCES, was very, very much in effect at every polling station on the polling days. Had Dr. Afari Gyan been physically present at each and every polling station to have been privy to the "fraudulently fraudulent electoral chicaneries so far volubly enunciated, then his statement would have been unpardonable.

To bring out my analogy, Dr Afari Gyan was like the official at the finishing line in a relay during an athletics meeting. It is given that many things could transpire during the race, from elbowing, collisions, tripping which could lead to disqualifications (remember the 1984 Olympic Games incident involving Mary Decker and Zola Budd and the conclusion of the controversy?), changing of batons, e.t.c. Apart from the official at the finishing line, there are others strategically placed whose observations will go to complement the affirmation of the winner and if nothing adversely issues from them, it is only human that the official at the finishing line accepts whoever crosses the line first as the winner. It is in this vein that I and hopefully any well meaning person will accept the statement of Dr Afari Gyan unquestioningly.

Anyway, I empathize with you as being the Administrative Assistant to Kwabena Agyei Adjepong, it would be occupationally suicidal to express a different opinion.

Nana Addo is a terrible disappointment to be honest.Events of recent weeks reveal the weakness of the man: he was never really cut out to be a great leader .He simply lacks vison and the ability to rise above his own raw ambitions, ego and narrow self interests. Africa is in the process of shedding leaders of that very ilk. Nana Akufo Addo not to be too unkind is now out of date and now simply clutching at straws. If the NPP has to survive it will have to at some stage (hopefully very soon) jettison Nana.An NPP whose fate is closely tied to that of Nana Addo is going to be doomed.
