Kufuor used that technique in a slight sence when he included some non-NPP members (mainly CPP members such as Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom) in his administration.
This is the usual and normal way to interpret the term "all inclusive government". But I do respect your point and do accept it IF REALLY THAT IS WHAT THE ADVOCATES of the idea "all inclusive government" mean when they call for it.
I read the full text of the respected advocate but I did not see that he meant what you (Akadu) means. Let us agree to disagree, though; and thanks for reading my article and commenting on it.

Fellow Ghanaians, let us analyze the performance of the two main political parties in this country. NDC’s philosophy is “dzie wo fie asem”. In opposition they allowed the Kufuor regime to mind its own business. As a result the NPP looted the Ghana government for eight good years. The fat cats looted the economy from cash (Kwadwo Mpiani), bungalow (Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey), cooking pots (Sekyi-Hughes) etc…..70% of the richest people in Ghana are NPP apparachicks. In the case of NPP, they believe they know better than anybody else and they are the only people who have the divine right to rule Ghana thus they oppose everything NDC does if it is not from the NPP, whether good or bad, from, Chinese loans, judgment debts, appointments and even the inauguration of President Mahama. This enabled the NDC to always be on their toes in whatever they do. From this observation, you can all agree with me that the NPP are better in opposition than NDC. Fellow Ghanaians, let us ensure that NPP remains in opposition for thirty years. After that time NDC will improve everything and NPP will come back and rule Ghana till thy kingdom come.

Do we want inclusive government or coalition government?
UK, US, France and Greece have first-past-the-post electoral systems. And I'm afraid none of these countries are a sterling example for positive politics carried out in the national interest for a nascent democracy like ours to emulate.
I prefer the electoral systems in Germany, the Netherlands, the Scandinavian countries, and Ireland, all democracies that tend to have coalitions. The first-past-the-post competitive politics with their single winner takes all parties lend themselves, I'm afraid, to extreme political behaviour, and are also open. to being corrupted by power and money.
This has been clearly demonstrated in the US, UK, France, Greece and most countries that have first past the-post voting systems.
If you factor in our penchant for tribal and regional politics, we should rather lean towards coalition type of government.
Below are my reasons:
1. It will be more difficult for coalitions to be influenced by money and powerful financial interests.
2. Single party governments often pursue policies that suit their supporters. More beholden to their foot soldiers, whereas coalitions are more likely to be seen to act in the wider national interest.
3. Coalition governments often respond better to diversity. They are quicker to explore alternatives.
4. Coalition governments are more ready to look for compromise, thereby avoiding taking extreme positions on issues.
In my opinion, because of our ethnotribal, regional, religious, educational, and other differences, coalition form of government would serve us well.

It is promoting national cohesion and continuity. You may be thinking of a coalition government which is certainly not the case here. Including persons from other parties is building bridges. The days of sharp and often acrimoninous ideological divide is over. Now its simply a struggle for power to deliver slightly different strategies! Those who go in do not represent their party once they are appointed. They become part of a national team with different party affiliations, but the winning President with his party being the majority and calling the shorts! When you fundamentally disagree you can choose to resign or be sacked!

An example of an inclusive government I'm aware of is the government of Zimbabwe, where Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front, ZANU-PF, led by Robert Mugabe, Movement for Democratic Change, MDC-T, led by Morgan Tsvangirai, and MDC-M, led by Arthur Mutambara, succeeded in creating an inclusive government in 2008, a highly controversial power sharing agreement, that in my view prevented political strife, but did not serve Zimbabwe any better.
