Seriously, the harm that the so called media have done and continue to wreck in the public domain is unmeasurable! Kuffour tried mellowing the poison with the libel law, but there are guys whose public pronouncements, insinuations and disclosures surpass the venom of a rattle snake.
Anyone with a brain cell should decipher what is false and what carries some elements of truth. Absolute facts no longer exist in Ghanaian story lines.
You mentioned editorial staff going to the dogs, some wonder if they have a conscience. One could conjecture unprofessional or absolutely total deceit for which a professional could be legally liable.
The journalists would point you to parliament where even the president is complaining about his 'insufficient' salary. MPs go on strike for more money meanwhile teachers are who are conducting classes under trees are owed salary arrears. If this is not the scenario in Chinua Achebe's famous story, what is it?

I take umbrage at the downright condescension poured by Selorm on Ghanaian journalists...of course, there are a few who will write anything to get noticed but there are countless others who pound the pavement everyday to come ...

I take umbrage at the downright condescension poured by Selorm on Ghanaian journalists...of course, there are a few who will write anything to get noticed but there are countless others who pound the pavement everyday to come up with human interest stories highlight the sorry plight of the average Ghanaian....so, take note of that...and by the way, the Wall Street Journal is the most partisan rag in the whole world...its Republican and conservative leanings are well known....read the editorial page of the paper and draw your own conclusions....the NYTimes in sharp contrast is not as partisan as its rival, the WSJ, though, it leans Democratic in its editorials.......
