Ambassador Katakyie, I can sympathise with you but do not share your view that Ex-President Kufuor should feign ill just to avoid attending President John Mahama's investiture. My late grandmother used to tell me that "one who feigns ill does not only feign death but is actually visited by death" in due course. That was when as a boy under her care, I tried to avoid carrying out some errand. For this warning from my late and cherished grand, I disagree with your advice and hope the Elder Statesman will ignore it. May God forbid that even if Ex-President takes your advice and feigns ill. Ghana cannot afford to be visited by the cold hands death on the two surving Ex-Presidents. May he live to be a thousand years to be the Elder Statesman that he is.

Katakyie, for all the examples you have enumerated in your article, I will be honest and say that NDC has not treated Ex-President fairly and and not accorded him the respect and dignity that he deserves. I am sure die hard NDC members and supporters could also enumerate similar bad experiences some of them went through when NPP assumed power in 2000 but that is not necessary. Such tit for tat argument is retrogressive.

For me, reading your article and not dwelling on past experiences of NDC tells me that Kufuor is showing that he is a better statesman. I am being honest and calling a spade, a spade. I also do appreciate the dilemma that both NPP and Ex-President Kufuor face on this matter, in view of the petition before the Supreme Court. Notwithstanding the petition, legally and constitutionally, the attendance of Ex-President Kufuor of the swearing of the John Mahama should not have any impact whatsoever on the case before the SC. The only potential negative impact for NPP is that NDC as usual will use it as a propaganda tool.

I also disagree with you that as a true statesman and patriot, Ex-President Kufuor should put party first before nation. It should be the other way round (Ghana first before NPP) and that is what Ex-President Kufuor has done.

I also believe that Ex-President Kufuor is aware of the international implication for him and Ghana (of his absence at such an August event that is taking place under the Supreme Law of the land, particularly as someone who believes in true democracy and the rule of law.

Finally, I asked in my comment on your last article if you were accusing John Mahama of killing the late Mills and you responded that I was putting words into your mouth. May I point out to you that you have repeated it again in this article so I did not and will not put such words into your mouth.

I even posted an article on Ghanaweb about the right of citizens to know about the state of health of their President. Of course, we all wished autopsy would have been carried out after his death so that Ghanaians would have known what caused his sudden demise. However that was not the case and we are told that was the wish of family members. Notwithstanding these, all what people say are speculation and allegations without any basis. So if you will rely on speculation and baseless allegations to allege that Mahama killed him, that is a matter for you. Of course unless you have some you are privy to information on the subject. I only wanted to clear my name that I had put words into your mouth.

Nana is now clearly being driven by selfish personal ambition. His dream of being President will never be realised. The sooner he and his cronies realise this the better it will be for everyone. Mark my words this man's continued stubboness will lead to a fracturing or splintering of the NPP and bye bye to any future hopes of the NPP winning an election in Ghana
