I am not a fan of the NDC party but I voted for JDM to become President. And writer, remember this "there is no free lunch" hence the supposedly Free SHS would have turned out to be a nightmare for Ghanaians. Today is, indeed, a sad day for mother Ghana! Thieves, 'dzimakplawo' and babies with teeth have, in collaboration with that Afari Djan's electoral commission have intervened in our democratic process. The result is an imposition of crooks on the country.
CONGRATS, the people's Nana Akufo Addo. Rejoice for the last chapters of the 2012 elections are still yet to be written.
Personally, I don't have much hope in the Supreme Court being given the free hand to go over the NPP challenge and make an informed determination. The international pressure on the Supreme court is so huge.
It is in view of the latter point that I must agree with all true democrats and peace lovers who have the courage to criticize the ill-informed, and unwise statement coming from the mouth of the current chairman of the AU. Given his position as AU chair, this guy should have known better and demonstrated some basic leadership qualities. But then again...
As we mourn the travesty that this inauguration is, I join other democratic and peace loving Ghanaians in congratulating perhaps the most visionary leader since Kwame Nkrumah that Ghana may never have to lead us!

Mr. Abrefa Damoah's writing is worth reading, especially if outside Ghana and have some goat-meat soup with fufu/gari/samolina and London-brand Gordon Gin above in the stomach. Most important for a patriotic Ghanaian in overseas is to pray and not to instigate riot after an Electoral Commissioner has declared a winner in an election. I hope people are learning from the host countries they are in about "Democracy". Why go to the Supreme Court if there is no trust in government officials? Please show a better and polished side of your experience in UK and write to encourage the respect of laws in Ghana when you are sober. I always wake up in the morning to pray for people that makes it possible for easier access to Ghanaian foods in overseas (grocery store owners) and the freedom of speech we enjoy in developed nations. Ghana should develop also with fair criticisms.

If Mr. Damoa is aged enough, he will remember that Ghanaians have enjoyed free education from Kindergarten through University levels and beyond to Mass-education. Even Mass-education created jobs for students that taught elders how to sigh their signatures and few reading. John Mahama is crowned the President of Ghana. Done. Is Over. Learn how to compromise and raise funds to pay for Akufo Addo's financial loss. You can denounce your citizenship if you are against Ghana's Constitution. Get over it!

As I read through your article, I kept asking myself, where does this man live? You sign your name with London (UK) attached, but my impressions are that you live in a secluded room in London, where your only communication with the external world is established through some half-cooked, one-sided and skewed information handed you (recorded or on sheets of paper) by your jailer. This is the only way I can understand your article, because any person who lives in liberty, has access to internet, and is armed with an analytical and objective mind, will never write the things you wrote in the article above.

Your article is a shameful one and lacks so much common sense that in principle should not be countered. But at times, it is important for comments to be made on such articles, so that in case you come around to read the reactions of readers, you may learn to tone down your language, be less biased in your analysis, and contribute to the development of the nation you claim to love.

If you had any self-respect left in you, the best to do if you ever come back to this page to read your own article, is to retract the unsavoury and disgustful remarks you made about the death of the former President. You can stand against the ideologies or policies of people but please do not stoop so low as to make some of us ask whether you are human or not.

For your information, Nana Addo filed a petition at the Supreme Court on the 28th of December and the case is going through its normal course. In the said petition the petitioner could not prove that the so-called rigging (or massaging) was a thing done to add votes to Mahama and subtract votes from Nana Addo. He (Nana Addo) prayed the Supreme Court to deduct votes from all presidential candidates (including himself) as shown in the table below:

(1) John Dramani Mahama: 916,409;
(2) Henry Herbert Lartey: 6,413;
(3) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo: 395,784;
(4) Papa Kwesi Nduom: 8,778;
(5) Akwasi Addai Odike: 2,544;
(6) Hassan Ayariga: 5,956;
(7) Michael Abu Sakara Forster: 3,166;
(8) Jacob Osei Yeboah: 3,795.

What you should know is that the arguments used to arrive at the above figures are as challengeable as Nana Addo considers the electoral results. I have read the petition, and can assure you that the mathematics used in working these numbers are of very doubtful logic. For instance, the issue of over-votes did not factor in the special-voting votes. And that of votes cast without biometric verification is a legal issue that has to be decided by the Supreme Court. Should the judges decide that those votes are not valid their number one recommendation will be a re-vote in the polling stations so affected; for, the judges will never disenfranchise some 500,000 voters for no error on their part. When this is done do you honestly think that those who voted in favour of Mahama will now prefer Akufo-Addo?

Some further points to note:

We heard accusations of Mahama’s connivance with Afari Gyan to turn the wind in favour of Mahama, but in the petition, there was no single accusation to that effect.

All accusations of fraud prior to the presentation of the writ have now metamorphosed to irregularities.

Your peers failed to sum properly in an official writ to the highest court of the land when they said the total number of valid votes cast was 14, 158,880.

The same people, after drawing a simple two-columned table to tabulate instances of irregularities and votes, failed to properly sum 23 figures. They came up with 1,342,851 votes instead of 1,343,047.

I will love to continue, but my thoughts on the petition will come in an article. Thanks

I now tend to agree very well with him. Because if you lived in a society where adults, about five and more can gather at one place tell lies and knowing very well that what they are telling the whole world are lies and not one of them can be bold enough to tell the others they should stop telling those lies then you would understand why it is pity to be an African.

You see somebody like the writer herein can be classfied as an educated person by all standard. But then you ask what is the use of the education he is got.

The zeal with which they are pushing to destroy the country's reputation speak volumes of what they had in store for Ghana.
