You should learn to differentiate politics and religion, because religion has a lot to do with beliefs and faith whereas politics deal with men and women trying to out-talk each other to get a position or power. When you mix the two and tend to equate politics with religion you end up confused and unable to face the reality on the ground.
If you think Nana’s supporters seem to have lost faith, and as such are abandoning him, it is not necessarily because the burden of the cross is becoming too much for them, but rather because they have seen that the petition he has presented to the SC can hardly withstand the scrutiny of factual evidence.
The supporters (the smart ones) are falling by the way side because:
They have seen that their leaders have decided to change MASSIVE FRAUD to “INSTANCES OF IRREGULARITIES”.
They have read in the petition that not only Mahama benefited from results padding, but that all the presidential candidates benefited. The smartest ones know that if all benefited, then in reality there was no benefiting.
They have observed that their leaders could not even sum simple figures correctly in a legal document presented to the highest court of the land. How can you win a case in court when you go with grave errors?
They have observed that their leaders preach virtue and practice vice. The leaders tell the whole world that what matters most in an election is the vote of a citizen, yet they are asking a court to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of citizens so that they (the leaders) can win an election.
And as if these were not enough, they (the NPP leaders) campaign that the SC proceedings must be transmitted live to the whole world, but in their first appearance in court they seek hearings in-camera. Who has something to hide?
You should learn to be analytical in your writings and as much as possible, take religion out of political discussions. Wishes can never overcome factual evidences.
