KKA, I disagree with you on conspiracy theory. The issue raised by the author is legitimate to ask and answers provided. For example, when I was a student in Bulgaria, there were only three members of staff at the Ghana Embassy in Bulgaria, including the Ambassador. With their spouses, the number of eligible Ghanaian voters from that mission was total of six. I am not sure if the Ambassador's wife was a Ghanaian citizen, since she was originally from East Africa but let’s assume that she had naturalised through marriage. I accept that that was a very small mission but the figure of 40 given by the author could be very high on average. It's is not helpful for anything and everything in Ghana to be contextualised into the prism of NDC/NPP.

Due to my extended holiday in Ghana, I was naturally petrified by the outcome of NPP winning their Election Petition. I thought NDC has far many violent thugs for NPP supporters to contend with. The Azorka boys alone will wipe the NPP out in the case of any reaction to a court decision. I thought NDC will never pay out so much bribe to the electorate and just relinguish power on a court decision. The violent thing was my concern, with NDC thugs poised to attack NPPs if they are so exposed. In fact, NDC bribery of the electorate
alone should disqualify John Mahama, who is now regarded as the most corrupt politician of our times. A man who can import so much Chinese goods to bribe the electorate on such gargantuan level.

I also thought the precarious poor State of Ghana's Economy; the dirt and very poor sanitation throughout the country; the low agricultural output and lack of good food for most Ghanaians; the poor state of education; the high levels of unemployment; the stealing of so much state resources by the NDC functionaries and generally the deplorable state of affairs in Ghana was so unattractive for any genuine politician to bother with; and indeed, the massive socio-economic problem is simply so devavstating, and wishes NDC is left to solve these problems created by themselves.

BUT articles like these make me re-consider my stand. The Electoral Commisioner was to all intents and purposes a most CORRUPT Public Officer, in league with NDC League of THIEVES.

I hope these electoral issues are handled fairly to deepen our fledgling democracy, as Ghana does not belong to these loud mouthed crooked NDC Politicians whose hopes are forever built on the last remaining natural resource made available to us all by NPP - the OIL.

NPP MUST QUESTION THE GROPAA OR ROPAL OR THESE GHOST NAMES COMPILED BY THE FRAUDULENT NDC POLITICAL MACHINERY...IN TANDEM WITH THE CORRUPT BRIBE-LADEN NDC PEOPLE.

Let me intervene in your poverty of of mind. Even if the EC were to make provisions for unforeseen circumstances, it would not mean that the EC had to invent numbers for that purpose. Rather, the said unforeseen circumstance would cater to actual people who registered! Are we clear in the sense that "provisions for unforseen circumstances" is not synonymous with a barrage of numbers that come from nowhere!That is the question that the author is asking!

With this as a correct premice then there is a Magic Number that if given to either party will cause the party that receives that Magic Number of votes to win the presidential election. The NDC knows this and has decided that it makes no difference how the Magic Number comes to their party, even if it is a fraudulent gift, it will cause their candidate to become president. Unfortunately, using this strategy causes democracy to fail. Fortunately in Ghana the vast majority of the voters do not want democracy to fail, because that will produce a dictatorship. In the 2012 election the Magic Number was less than 163,000 votes. It should be noted that the APPEARANCE OF 241,524 VOTES discussed in the above article, that number magically appeared out of the top hat of the NDC. That number was a MAGIC NUMBER of rabbits that were more numerous than 163,000.
