  There is need for a non-partisan approach. Solving the problems should be devoid of partisan political inclinations. How difficult will it be for the Chief Executive Officers of these Assemblies to work hand-in-hand with identifiable public, quasi-public, and private business entities to find permanent solutions to this problem of street hawking? I suppose the problem isn’t being solved because of rigid antagonistic positions that all the stakeholders have taken, which is counter-productive.

  Call them for community meetings to get some ideas from them. Include them in decision making about their own country to suggest a plan that would be beneficial for all who trade at road sides and give them a time frame to vacate the streets to a safer and useful environment. If refused then you can give them fines. Those fines could help build and secure better market locations for them and for all. Do not arrest them because they are not criminals to be arrested and faced hard labor for what? There are lots of different ways to kill a cat. Ghana faces a very high unemployment that's why you see everyone trying to sell something. At least they are not lazy they struggle and needs help.

  I think we stick to Bye Laws of the Metropolis --- It's unfortunate our MP's & Assemblies & Ministers of State are weak & lazy.Ghana has come a long way now to be toyed with this Sanitation problem. Many don't know this way of behaviour very much archaic & sickening-- Ban them we need to grow in our mentality & attitude -- what sort of signal is it there for the Tourist hheeiihh -- ask those Diasporas' if this's done in Europe & USA.Let's all help build Ghana -- if there's no room for hawking -- they should opt for the Agricultural Farming & help produce enough & stop this nonsense of trading -- selling -- hawking -- why can't we Learn & Stop see-saw money money money -- why Politicians Wake Up -- Send hawking away from the Streets.Congestion & Choked Accra & other places means Planners & Engineers are asleep on their job -- sack them all & allow the Health Management Team deliver the healthy environment required .God's Grace & Mercy there's no outbreak of disease looking at the existing eyesore surroundings we find everyday.
