This influx of street Chinese men to Ghana started a few years ago when NDC took power and then went to China to borrow money from the Chinese government and that has paved the way for China to rush to exploit Ghana.How do all these street Chinese old and young men get visas to come to Ghana? Mahama and all his NDC top men are all involved so why should they talk about this stupid act.Chinese are not only minig gold they are also selling kenkey and rice in Ghana. What a shame? SWEEP all of them away, they are treacherous, greedy and selfish bunch of people.

Very true and and unacceptable, I think Mr.K.Badu has made a good point which calls for immediate action by the Government. These immigrants are taking Ghanaians for fools which must not be torrelated. We need to preserve our environment for our future generation, we can't sell our birth right to foreigners so cheaply. The government is in place to protect it's citizens otherwise they have no business representing the people. No body can just go to Canada, UK, USA, Australia and begin to dig any how even with a permit with disregard to harming the environment,for God sake can somebody out there move to save the situation before it becomes complicated and dangerously damaged.

There is a difference between sustainable mining (the legal kind), and completely destructive mining (illegal.) Often legal mining businesses will do what they can to offset their negative impact; and they tend to be conscientious of their business reputation if they are seen to be doing things wrong. More so, legitimate businesses are more inclined not only to employ locals, but also look out for their safety and offer further incentives. A bunch of cowboys with guns and bulldozers only care about taking care of their next lump of gold.

We are like a rich, foolish woman who lets her scumbag boyfriend beat her and steal her money- we are giving up our health, looks and gold just because we think it is normal to be treated this badly. But it is not normal, and if we let ourselves keep getting beaten and robbed, it just may kill us - bruise by bruise, cut by cut-.
