I was really enjoying this piece of poisonous garbage when the joker spoilt my day by claiming that an Anlo Mafia has arisen and teamed up with the alleged Gonja Mafia to take over the NDC and the country, I suppose! Phew! I could see that my side of the family opposed to that Awoamefia impostor and his henchmen at this very moment is determined to jail at least two members of the alleged Anlo Mafia for contempt of court! We are not deterred whether they have allegedly joined a Mafia or not though! BTW, JJ is also of Anlo extraction, just as all from Dzelukope/Keta area. Fiifii Kwetey, on the other hand, is of Ge-nyi extraction that spilled over into the Ketu Districts, straddling the Ghana/Togo border, and, in fact, reaching to even Keta.

The NDC, indeed, no doubt is national! It is the only party in Ghana at the moment which can boast of strong mafia support in all parts of the country!:-) In every region of Ghana, you'd find masses of people, from the commoners to the elite, who are ready to embrace it passionately and make it their own.

Years back in the mid-'90s, one couldn't even get a single person to own up as an NDC supporter on the premier Ghana forum, Okyeame, for instance. We of the Moral Brigade who stood up against the tribalistic politics and ethnic chauvinism of the NPP supporters were not necessarily all supporters of the NDC.

Anyway, I've very good credentials to join this Mafia Gang from both ends! I am of Anlo extraction but I also have, perhaps, by now over 1000 Gonja kins, from the 32 wives of my great grandfather who became a Gonja sub-chief over his brood! The 2 siblings after me were born in the Damongo Govt Hospital, where no doubt President Mahama was also born, in the late 1950s just like him. Of course, I no doubt share genes with Ibrahim, John's step-brother, if she's indeed descended from the real McCoy! Shieee! If one is about to join the Mafia, one must learn about the rules of "omerta".

I took time off my busy work schedule to read this, at least I expected to read something close to what I have heard about the Akyem Mafia. My friend, you missed the point and made very naive analysis and judgment. What surprises me is the refusal of this writer to see beyond the status quo politics in the appointments made by President Mahama.

This President that we have is one of most discerning individual we ever might get as President in our time, at least for the time being. The least he is interested in, is anything tribal. Look at his appointments, he made sure that he balanced regionalism with competence, and at the back of it, he ensured that he got people who are committed to serving the nation first, before the NDC party. I see a nationally focused government now than the 4 region assertion the writer alludes to.

Again, it is never true that Hon. Haruna is a Mahama boy, maybe check your facts again.

Coming to the NDC party itself, we see names that represent the known factions in the NDC party. The Fante Confederation bloc have their representatives in there, the Voltain basin equally have their representation. Surprisingly, the Ashanti minority have their representation. The Brong Ahafo side does and the many other minority Northern tribes all do have their representation. What this write does not understand is the dynamism of the tribes and people of Ghana and how power balancing should be done in such a way that you carry the nation along. What the president has done by way of his appointment epitomizes that.

Maybe in future, this write should not rush to go to press, but take his time to research the people and the dynamics behind those before going to press.

Mr. Writer, you still need a lot of schooling in public issues.

The three Northern regions have 15% of the population in GHANA but Mahama's appointments have been 60% Northerners with 80% of the Castle appointments having gone to the Northerners. Stop your nonsense of regional balance.

The important issue to be considered is why did our president say after our late Prez Atta Mills death that Northerners are tired of playing second fiddle...that instatement stinks of tribalism. Then he goes on to elect 60% of his tribesmen as Ministers there are 10 regions in this country so how can 60% of Miniisters come from only 3 Regions. Elections are over so nobody should label me as belonging to any one party. I am talking as.a concerned Ghanaian.
