The mandate to true Christians is to set the world free from poverty and this is the hidden mystery in the Holy Bible. Ministers of God belong to the five categories of the poor according to the Scriptures. Misinterpretation of the word has led to churches being turned into business empires to benefit a few . Soon the truth will be told for Christianity to take the centre stage in eradication of poverty from the world.

Your entire hermeneutics are poor and totally misplaced. Though some will take advantage, we are very much aware. But you have assumed a role to interpret scriptures which you lacked the credence for. Go and look for a sound teacher of the word of God to instruct you well.

Are u happy with all the fake pastors in Ghana? Deceiving ppl, breaking up families and marriages, and who continue to steal from the poor? Have u ever asked yourself why every JSS drop out in Ghana and Naija now wanted to be a pastor? Have u wondered why all young women wanted to marry a pastor?

It is becuase it is currently the easiest way to fame and riches, simple as that.

By and large, you have identified some very good points about what is good ( and not so good) about some churches. You probably should have defined "modern churches" from the outset and differentiated them from the 'traditional or orthodox' or if you like 'old' churches whose pastors and leaders to a very large extent do not enjoy the luxuries you refer to.

In fact many of them have to do other jobs to get by and in the case of catholic priests, often have "benefactors" who support their missions. If by "modern" you mean "charismatic", again not all pastors, evangelists or leaders of these churches indulge in the excesses you mention although the tendency is seen more in those churches. Otherwise you make some really good points about how the churches have contributed e.g. to education and indeed health through the hospitals in relatively remote areas of Ghana in many cases.

What is sad and ironic is that some of these pastors WERE the greatest critics of the existing churches when they stepped out in the 1980s to attract a lot of young people to their congregations. They completely forgot all the good work that they may have benefited from including in some cases, fhe mentoring work of the Scripture Union. Now a few of them have put up schools and colleges and hospitals and are so proud of their achievements. Isn't it interesting?

By all means we want to see people contribute to national life and development, but let he work speak for itself and yes, live simple (not poor) lives instead of the flamboyance we often see.
