Appiah can still be an assisstant coach to help Sellas Tetteh. At least he was able to discover Dauda, Wakaso, Asante and Atsu. I take my hat off for these brave guys. They made their names. To me, these guys are the pillars of the team- if one is down or substituted the whole team shakes. My man of the match was Wakaso. The only reason why the coach removed him was maybe because of bribe. I will never understand the reason why. R you kidding me? the guy just even scored a penalty and you take him off during extra time? HOW? WHY? Kwasi Appiah need to be seriously questioned for this STUPID mistake no coach will make. It's like substituting Frank Lampard during extra time when England will need him for the penalty.

Defence wins games so when Asamoah Gyan won the toss for the penalties, he should have opted to kick second and NOT first to enable them study the kicks. Ghana should groom stikers and not schemers. How many, Derek Boateng, Atsu, Wakaso, Asamoah, Asante and Agyeman Badu (six) mid-fielders and one stiker? How stupid could a bump coach be? The game is fair for the Burkinabes to win.

These are some of the things which makes people to demand a foreign COACH, and they are all fact. They are good things somehow by the way

1) Proper team selection to represent a nation.

2) Ultimate Technical know how for a very BOLD decisions making to achieve success.

3)Players are not 100% Disciplined and committed fully with cautions and focus 100% under a local Coach. It's in a black-men players DNA.

But, under a foreign Coach all the players will give their proper attention on that particular game or tournament in order to achieve success at the end. Because, they know that they the players CAN BE DROPPED AT ANY TIME.

4) GFA should set up PLAYERS SELECTION BOARD for every tournament that Ghana is participating to come out with THE BEST WELL DESERVING PLAYERS for that competition.

THERE WERE ONLY 5 GOOD PLAYERS IN THE BLACK STARS TEAM.
KWADWO ASAMOAH, WAKASSO, ATSU, ONE DEFENDER AND BADU. Though Asante did good.

Here is my question: why did they take Wakaso out when they knew we could be headed for penalties and he is our best penalty taker? Plus, why had we not rehearsed penalty taking 100 times beforehand. Isaac Vorsah was great in defence and it was unfair to throw him to the wolves like that. It seems to me that in a competitioin like AFCON the technical men should make sure penalties are PRACTISED a lot. Like free throws in basketball, teh more you practice the more confident you are and the calmer you are when yo uare called to take a penalty.
Regardless, let us regroup and support our team and Ghana!

The Coach and his Technical team never did their job well. How many players were called only to spend the entire period in the sick bay? If that is case why not call Muntari, Ayews, Abeyie, Opare? There was not a single ENFORCER in the midfield for Ghana? What happened to our vaunted MIDFIELD? Central defence was another area whic was scary. John Boye mus play in Painstil's position, right back and Jonathan Mensah given full time permanent duties at Central defence. He has a cool head, disciplined and experienced. Asamoah Gyan is another STORY.

And I insist, so long as we keep our best players out, we are in trouble. Ghana's best team must inculde at the core, Andre Ayew, Atsu, K. Asamoah, Q. Abeyie, Muntari, J. Ayew, Jonathan Mensah, Afful, F. Dauda/Kwarasey and Opare. Vorsah is still a force. With these as the core, we can constitute the team. Please Ghana government dissolve this Nyantakyi GFA like Nigeria did after the WC 2010 and now look at the team they have, SOLID, FAST and HUNGRY PLAYERS. In Ghana we always think ahead of ourselves and fail to realistically assess our capabilities. HOW CAN YOU GO TO A TOURNAMENT WITHOUT YOUR MOST POTENT WEAPONS?

AA should never have been allowed to chose his 'friend' Konadu as his assistant.The BS job is a serious job and even b4 he was given the job we all doubted his technical abilities.What the GFA should have done was to have found a white coach who can read games and impress on Appiah to work with him to counter his deficiencies.This they failed to do.
AA is a typical ghanaian coach.His substitutes like for like and doesnt have a plan B.
Verdict:Please sack him ASAP so that we at least salvage what is left of our sorry world cup qualifications campaign.

If the panel of judges is not satisfied with the prospective coach's performance, have 2 black star teams coached by another aspiring coach in a week and assess them on all areas of the game. It should never again be based on favoritism or number of years as a coach.

However,given close thought throughout the games,its obviously became clear that the black stars which was once highly respected and adored by many african nations as a four times champion and world cup quarter finalist have now been reduced to nothing other than chasing their own shadows and crumbling down.
This was due to coach Appiah's lack of vision and perfect foresight towards this huge continental competition:Appiah fails to realize that the AFCON today more than ever has become vigorous and with more tactice. He also fails to prepare the team to aqcuire more strong physical tendencies: running&fastness abilities with precision/accuracy control of the ball. Sorrowfully, holding the ball for more even ten minutes was said to be a problem. While the Burkinabes were running and breaking thru ghana's defense, treating a goal, almost 98% of the plays were puffing and huffing for air, showing terrible signs of tiredness and fatigue .
Not only the central midfield that suffered collapse,but also the offensive,the attacking, and defense all suffered some degree vulnerability to the opponents in amost all our games.
Finally, Ghana Football Association must also compaign over rough tackles, bullying, and intimidation of the prayers before AFCON for proper refereeing. Bravo to us all.

Infact what was his reason for substituting his key penalty kicker in extra time when it was obvious the game was heading towards penalties? Why should a defender (Vorsah) take penalty when our main striker (Gyan) stands watching? And why didn't we use Daniel Agyei for the penalties since he is very good at catching penalties? Appiah left Dede on the grounds that he is not fit and yet J. Mensah has not kicked a ball in this tournament.

Problem with Ghana is that we think we are that good as a footbal nation when in reality we are just slightly an above average football nation and not excellent. Hence, we can be defeated by any team that gets their tactics right over us on a good day. We are no Brazil and if we accept this reality, we will not be dissapointed when we get kicked out of tournaments. My point is, we are always as likely to get kicked out equally as we are likely to win the tournament since we are not a say " Germany" " Italy" or Brazil" who always have about 95 percent chance of winning tournaments. Ghana has about 75 percent chance of wining tournaments. we need to stop behaving like we are an excellent football nation because we are not . Well for the time being we are not. WE ARE JUST SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE FOOTBALL NATION.

For some years now, Asamoah Gyan has been a lone striker dating back to the period of "one goal project" but we are able to score goals in competitions. On one breath you are congratulating the very people that Kwasi Appiah put together but you are rather criticizing the person who put them together.
Owoahene, if you haven't watched the match with a prejudiced eyes you will also have seen those glaring chances that came our way, that we also squandered.

All through the tournament, we have played 10 against 11 with Ghana always playing with 10 men. The reason being that ASAMOAH GYAN has no committment and should not have been there. Is performance is teh worse I have seen for a Ghanaian striker. People have hailed hime as the best thing to happen to Ghana football but is he up to the game. A striker who has to wait for a ball to drop infront of him is not a striker. A striker is the one who faces the ball, receives it and then turn to control the ball. World class strikers alway have their backs facing the post until the receive the ball. Asamaoh is always facing the post waiting for the ball expecting the defender to allow the ball to go past him for him Asamoah Gyan the precious one to score. This is great football talent, isn't it. DO NOT INVITE HIM AGAIN. Historically all our goals have been from the midfield. Awesi Appiah where is the tactics and did you even have a game plan. Why change it in 5 minutes because of an injury to just one player. Oh great, Local coach. I am peed off and damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Already in Ghana's WC qualifying match against Zambia in Zambia was Kwesi Appiah's tactical bankruptcy in full glare! He went in for an open game, leaving our defence somewhat open, and our midfield porous, in a match that we were playing against the then reigning African champions in their backyard. That was a match that most suitably called for a "tight" midfield and defence, a kind of Milovic formation and approach! We were playing away, against a top team, so even a draw wouldn't have been a bad result.

What may have gone into Kwesi Appiah's head was the fact that his open game approach against Lesotho in Ghana just before the Zambia encounter won Ghana 5 or 6 goals! But Lesotho is not Zambia and playing in Ghana is different from playing in Zambia!

All the good players play in a World Class High Leagues in Europe or local teams in Africa. A very good striker will be in either Spain, England, Germany, France, Italy, and Netherlands.

These are some of the things which makes people to demand a foreign COACH, and they are all facts. The facts are good things somehow by the way

1) Proper team selection to represent a nation.

2) Ultimate Technical know how for a very BOLD decisions making to achieve success.

3)Players are not 100% Disciplined and committed fully with cautions and focus 100% under a local Coach. It's in a black-men players DNA.

But, under a foreign Coach all the players will give their proper attention on that particular game or tournament in order to achieve success at the end. Because, they know that they the players CAN BE DROPPED AT ANY TIME.

4) GFA should set up PLAYERS SELECTION BOARD for every tournament that Ghana is participating to come out with THE BEST WELL DESERVING PLAYERS for that competition.

THERE WERE ONLY 5 GOOD PLAYERS IN THE BLACK STARS TEAM.
KWADWO ASAMOAH, WAKASSO, ATSU, ONE DEFENDER AND BADU. Though Asante did good.

Answer: Win the world cup.

Please leave the man alone. If anything, we should rather blame the players for their awful play.

1. Was it Kwesi Appiah who kicked a penalty from the spot to the corner post?
2. Was it Kwesi Appiah who kicked a penalty right over the bar after scoring so many penalties?
3. Is Stephen Keshi not a local coach? Before the tournament, did not the likes of this writer declare him and the team a dead case?

It is good that those who actually know of and matter about football has decided to give him a nod. He will do much better. Just wait and see.
