  Kofi, do you realise that if you are an exporting country, 'weaker' currency makes your exports cheaper and more attractive rather than a stronger currency as you suggest? Why do you think the US and others have over the years put pressure on China, Japan and others to revalue their currencies? Anyhow unless we are able to develop our manufacturing sector to produce enough at reasonable production costs to export, we cannot become competitive even in the African Markets.
  
  We need to look at our areas of strength and develop these whilst investing in other niche areas. Someone has suggested the promotion of solar technology and I support the idea of a tax holiday to enable imports of solar panels etc. and extensive use of the technology to ease our energy problems to boost especially small to medium sized businesses. There is a lot to be done and what we need is a structured long term development plan supported by all parties and ring-fenced for our development.

  It's not support from the Government of Ghana that Ghanaian investors need to launch out to other African countries, but the ability to rise above their petty prejudices, hatred and fear of other fellow Africans.
