WHY DID THE ISLAMISTS ATTACK MALI. PROLLY BECOS THEY SAW THE MALIAN GOVT AS WEAK OR FULL OF POTHOLES. THE FRENCH ARMY WAS THERE, BUT ITS THE CANADIANS WHO R USING AIRPOWER TO BOMB. Africa people like Ghana should stop insulting their leaders when they are buying equipment for the army. Because western world buy a lot of equipment for their army, why not Africa or Ghana.Now you have a lot of oil Ghana should equip the army like any other country in the world. North Korean did it, China, did it Iran it. why not Africa or Ghana. This article is worth more than millions of dollars. One can never put a price tag to knowledge. I can never agree more to any article than this. For the person (Jones)that is suggesting foreign weapon, there is no weapon that is greater than human minds when they are united. That is why the colonial masters used divide and rule system. The so called foreign weapons that they see to you are all with remote control that they put it out of service when they want to fight you. Weapon does not kill but people do. All we need to do is unite and their weapon cannot do anything. Why we are busy fighting our brothers based on the border they created for us, they are busy reaping all we have. As though that was not enough, they want to come in and take all.

But I want to assure you guys that it will not happen. There is this underground movement that is brewing. It it gradually taking shape and spreading and hopefully will be significant soon. The biggest mistake that the colonial people made of the recent days is the introduction of the internet. Internet has speed up the rate of information, and we all know that information is power.
On a final note, we do not need the Chinese or Russians, but because they are of lesser evil, we can manage with them for now. But the new rise in Africa, will take the world by surprise, even a lot of African will not see it coming. All Africans need to do is to "know who you are and know your identity". And with that, we will certainly excel. But to be honest with you, Africa needs a leader like the writer of this article, to move us forward. I remove my cap for you.

My Brother I seize the opportunity to congratulate you for an article well penned also for showing interest in our Mother-Land. I've been out & away from home a long while ago. The facts has eluded me and I personally need your help to avoid unnecessary pre-judgement in such an important matter. I do agree with your commentary and broad outlook of the facts:
......."NATO is not altruistic and neither does it practice a live-and-let-live policy. Given the chance, they will manipulate, divide and conquer. This is too bad! It is a sick aspect of our collective human nature. China will do no less, even if done in a different way. Option (3) is for Africa and African nations to realize the “smelly stuff” they have gotten themselves into and wise up! It would be great if we could only just nicely ask the more powerful blocs not to manipulate us and our continent and to please leave us in peace if they choose not to help us. But it does not work like that. So as Africans, we need to get talking in order to figure a way out of this. This option is in my view the most open one"......
The question is, who in Africa has the guts for the required progressive time and resources needed to monitor, study and to at least confront issues of this sort with "the powers that be" (be it NATO, The Russians or China)?
One of my answers at this time is a well educated faction/Wing of The OAU that can engage "the powers that be" in a progressive dialogue with issues of these sort. Funny as I may sound........

Unfortunately, the root cause of Africa languishing in penury, diseases, unemployment and lack of any meaningful socio-politico-economic development is shameless, bland face corruption among the Africa political elite. I dismiss this article as moo talk. the writer tried to claim he has sufficient evidence to portray the imperialist and evil machinations of the West and its allies! But alas, I found nothing of substance in his adduced reasons, besides, being offensively patronising. what is "e-force"? for Christ sake? anon, do you think the Chinese doling out dollars left right and centre to many Africa nations are just a "father Christmas" ? They also have their agenda to secured their sources of natural resources for the nation's development. Unfortunately you use Syria as an example.This target of the west seem to have stalled because of the opposition from Russia and China to give them a mandate through the Security Council.When Africa and the rest of the world were misled under sc resolution 1973 which authorized the Libyan intervention, they went outside the resolution and well above their mandate with spurious interpretation of that resolution.If you follow international affairs you will realize that the breach of faith by the west diminished the stature of the UN as never before and the will continue to find difficulties in getting through resolutions in the sc.The fall out of libya is what is happening in Mali.Right wing stooges like you and your ready obedience to the west as bastion of every thing good make you the real enemies of Africa.For once you must be objective and see through the ploy of western machinations.

There is no African leader and government operatives that have'nt been bought by the West. They dont tike the trouble to be articulate and fluent in their expressions in their dealings with the West, all they do in negotiations and dealings is they mumble and fumble and their stupidity become so obvious to their Western counterparts and they just enlist them into their secret societies and do their bidding to rape Africa. It's all about political and economic survival.In our world and in the animal kingdom the name of the game is survival of the fittest. Before the europeans ever set foot in Africa we were fighting tribal wars, raiding, maiming, killing, enslaving and dominating each other just in the name of political and economic survival.
What name shall we call a 56 year old man still crawling, in diapers and crying like a baby when he's hungry and depending on external sources for all his needs. Whatever name we choose to call this man that's what we are as a nation.After 56 years of independence and naturally endowed with an abundance of natural and human resources we are still misgoverning ourselves and our leaders have to globe trot to panhandle for freebies and loans. For the donor nations this is a too good to miss business opportunity and they maximize on our naivety and stupidity. If we need someone to blame we need to start looking inwards. We are to blame for electing corrupt, greedy, inept and visionless leaders time after time even after their many failures to turn the economy around and unite the nation. Where else will the likes of Yaya Jammeh, Mobutu Sese Seko, Eyadema, Rawlings, Idi Amin, Sani Abacha, Omar Bongo, Khadaffy, etc, be tolerated after decades of misrule and without nothing to show for the wasted years and expended resources? The western powers may have their own agenda which is obviously not in the best interest of the continent but when you're confronted with two evils it's always prudent to choose the lesser of the two which in this case is the western alliance. We have to blame ourselves for not being able to do what we need to do for ourselves. Africa is endowed with rich natural and human resources yet we continue to mismanage our affairs and always have to depend on interventionists to bale us out of sticky situations. We have to start looking inward for the solutions to our own problems.First we as a people have to understand that inept and visionless leadership coupled with massive corruption lie at the root of African evils and the cause of our under-development. Countries in Asia and other parts of the world that were just as under developed and very poor like the poor nations of Africa in just a few years have been able to shake off the shackles of dependency, poverty, disease, and malnourishment. Malaysia and Ghana started revolutions in their respective countries around the same time but whilst Malaysia progressed Ghana regressed and the economy bellied up.
We in Africa have to start setting the bar higher for our political leaders and have greater expectations of them. Until we stop panhandling for foreign aid in the midst of plenty we will continue to be directed and instructed by our donor nations and agents. Dont blame Nato or Al Qaeda, etc. We need to blame ourselves for we can do a lot better than we are currently doing. We should stop choosing leaders on the basis of our stupid emotions and egos and start choosing transformational leaders.

Its income is usually spent on housing, food, in addition to entertainment. Many individuals that do represent the working class either 100 % or part time are not offered insurance via their jobs so they move without owing to the rising valuation on health insurance in america. It is also crucial for us to avoid remaining oblivious to the happenings around us, and to critically assess what is going on in the world. Unfortunately, there are background forces in this world...manipulating...because of this, it is essential for truth seekers to be circumspect. Not all events are necessarily manipulated, however there is enough record of an agenda being played out for significant events not to be ignored

I have read through the comments so far published and have seen differing opinions. Some agree with what I have written and have further expounded while others have differing opinions, which is to be expected in a discussion.

For those who think I am finding blame in the West for our problems, I say that you may have misread the article. No where in the article did I blame the West for "Africa's problems", which are many. In my view, this is a confusion of issues. I sought to outline an agenda which is currently being played out in a very specific arena and the possible repercusssions of this agenda.

For those who blame our woes on our leaders or on our perceived inherent incapacity to govern ourselves, what solutions (if any) would you propose to remedy the situation? Why do we have the leaders that we have?

Africa's problems are many, and an attempt to outline these is worthwhile. I also find it a worthwhile endeavour attempting to explain the "African psyche". These are major issues and major discussions, and I invite more discussion on this, together with integrated proposed SOLUTIONS!

Why has Africa had a history of leadership crisis? Why have good and promising leaders been easily eliminated? Is the African really and truly inherently incapable of having a unified mindset, and if so, why is that? Are these static situations? Is there room for self-development and self-determination, or are we condemned to an unchangeable fate?

These are huge but noteworthy questions which demand rigorous discussions hopefully leading to some insight. However let us not confuse issues. Let us try as much as possible to be clear, and let us try not only to disagree but to also offer credible and interesting workable solutions to these problems we are here discussing.

Aside from that, I believe the subject matter of this article can stand in its own right, and although related to, it should not be confused with the entire slew of problems we face as a people.

national security has failed on all points and is practically nonexistent so much so any fool can see the results of the disintegration of the institutions of state slowly crumbling to the vice-grip of widespread corruption and incompetence. they now want to shoot some priest for saying the president will die but what they dont see is that the president is already dead a walking zombie . what would have happened if obama had not respected to spirit of the institution of presidency and presented a cabinet dominated by his chicago homies or indulged in out of the ordinary meetings with controversial characters or these strange financial transactions with gold . in short the national security is being rule by incompetent amateurs who are not capable of advising the institution of the presidency of the pros and cons of any action instead they walk around like glorified night watchmen just chopping the tax payers money

Many other revealings have documented how secret underground organizations are planing to take control of the world with any means including blood. They have no conscious and do not respect human life.

The only thing such powers are afraid of are people with atomic bombs. Therefore, we need our own atomic bombs in Ghana and the rest of Africa to defend our nation and continent. No society whether being a company, organization or a nation can survive without security. If your company is not secured your business will die. So a risk assessment must be done and followed up. The same valids for a country. If you are the richest country in the world and do not have a strong army anybody can attack you and take your properties. Hence,I suggest that we establish an army of 1.2 mio soldiers in Ghana alone. Status quo I do not think our army numbers up to even 50.000 men and women and such a small army can easily be destroyed by just 1000 people trying to create conflicts.

At Last do anybody know if our leaders/politicians read such articles written on Ghanaweb so they can learn what is going on around or are they busy stealing money and having sex with different women and buying unnecessary things? There might be few good politicians just not to generalize.
