"Responding to the plaintiff’s questioning the integrity of the voters who register in paragraph 6 of its response, the Electoral Commission stated “In answer to paragraph 12 of the Petition, the 2nd Respondent says that the initial provisional figure it announced of registered voters was 13,917,366.
After the conduct of registration of Foreign Service officials, students abroad on government scholarship, other Ghanaians working abroad in International organizations and the late registration of service personnel returning from international peacekeeping duties, it announced a figure of 14, 158,890 representing the raw entries in the Registration Database”.
IT WAS THE EC THAT STATED IT REGISTERED 241,528 GHANAIANS RESIDING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY. NOW IT TURNS OUT ONLY 705 WERE REGISTERED. THIS SHOWS THE INTERGRITY OF THE EC FOR LYING INITIALLY. THE EC BLOATED THE ELECTORAL REGISTER FOR WHATEVER PURPOSE, THE EC IS FINDING IT HARD TO EXPLAIN.

That is the 241,000 people we have been talking about all this while. The list includes the residents of Akuse, Ghanaians on peace keeping duties, students on government scholarships, prisoners and other Ghanaians who for one reason or the other could not be registered when the registration exercise started in March 2012.
If what I am saying is not true, I bet the NPP would have held a press conference immediately they received the information from the EC. But the atmosphere surrounding Nana Akufo-Addo is all hushed because their dreams have been totally shattered with the information provided by the EC"
One might ask; Why is the NPP hierarchy silent on the issue that the EC registered only 704 people abroad? One would have expected them to throng into the streets by now if the NPP has, indeed, caught the EC with both hands in the cookie jar.

Afari-Gyan was ordered by the SC to provide the names and addresses of these 'oustide voters', and it has turned out that there were actually only 705, instead of the 241,000.
Question is, did the EC deliberately lie to Ghanaians when they declared the results? Is it really true that 14, million registered, or, really 13,9 million? Is it true that many more Ghanaians took part in the Presidential elections than those who took part in the Parliamentary elections? Is it really true, that 50.7% voted for John Mahama? etc. etc.
But most important is whether Ghanaians are prepared to stand the truth when Afari-Gyan confesses that there were other mistakes.
Anyway, when Ghanaians give Mahama a goat, don't say it was a cow. that is what Akufo-Addo wants us to know

The EC gave representatives of both NPP and NDC 2,350 people which they had targeted for registration. These figures were presented to them by Min. of Foreign Affairs. The representatives of the parties are Honourable Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NPP) and Mr George Lawson (NDC).
Therefore if the EC has made a statement that the initial figures were 13,917,366 and after the registration of Ghanaians abroad, it arrived at 14,158,890 voters, NPP should not jump into a conclusion that nothing happened in between.
We all know that the courts ordered the EC to register some more voters after the initial figures had come out. The figures from the later registration exercised ordered by the courts and the 705 registered overseas may make up the 241,000. NPP knows that the 241,000 couldn't have come from registration overseas.

At no point has the total number of votes cast or total valid votes changed in this euqation. So what is this piece of story seeking to achieve? Please allow the court to look at it and decide rather than putting out uneducated information to the public to suggest that if there is a change in total number of registered voters there it suggests that total votes cast is also affected.

Before voting took place the EC had already given the number of Ghanaians outside the country whom they intend to register to both the NPP and NDC representatives. These are only a few thousands. But out of these people only about 705 people voted, but they voted in Ghana and not overseas as NPP want us to believe.
Now for the sake of this argument, if it is true that 241, people registered overseas. The question is, did they vote in Ghana or overseas? No. Therefore what is NPP,s problem?
The results that came from the polling stations that made Mahama the winner did not include the 241,000. Therefore NPP will be losers here, and this is why since Tuesday they have been silent.

If after that the EC added something small (705 votes) from overseas to update his records that figure is not substantial enough to be relied on to overturn over 300,000 votes though it could be contested in the courts.
At the moment we do not know the candidate who got more of that figure.
Once the EC has made it clear that no voting took place outside Ghana, it means nothing is going to be deducted from the figures we already have.
After all, the so called 241, 000 figure being circulated by NPP was not part of the votes that took place and Ghana in which Mahama emerged the winner.

Now we seem to have forgotten the main issue, and are concentrated about the 240,000 which has even turned out to be false...
Pls find out for me, why there was such a huge difference in numbers, between the total number of votes cast for the presidencial and that of parliamentarian elections.
It is very unlikely that so many people, after spending hours in the scorching sun, thumb-printed and dropped the 'presidential' ballots into the ballot-box, and then put the 'parliamentarian' ballots into their pockets and walked away back home.

The population figure we are working with now is woefully innapproriate. Do you know some of the counters never visited some of the homes.My household off-Nugua link road porpularly know as spintex road on the Manett Cottage raod was never counted. Because according to one of the nincompoops recruited for this execrcise felt that we need not be counted because we are in a wooden structure. And true to his words ,we were never counted. My people in the house however got their voters Identity cards and voted. Which statistics is correct in our country? We don't know how the proportion of our population which is made of women. We have no statistics about which proportion of our population is still in school from the Day Nursery to the Universities.We have no statiststics about crime. Just listen to the police talk about crime reduction or increase and you will appreciate what I am talking about.What about fire ,other dissasters etc? Please NPP, save us the trauma. But I am sad the so called elders of this party are sitting down just for a handful of vicious men and women to destroy the party.

Imagine; after queuing for three hours in the sun, you are given the sheets for "president", and "Parliamentarian". Then you thumb-print and cast your vote for President, and put the "MP" into your pocket, and walk away, but when you leave the polling station, there is no paper in your pocket.

Mathew Opoku took npp coppy to them. What is clear here is that, npp thought 1000s voted from Abroad for them to launch on. But i can see disappointment turning into accusations. NPP clearly has no case and they are now fishing for them. If bloated register cast doubts on the legitimacy of the presidents, then Kufour was the most discredited legitimate president in the history of this country. The voter register we used in 2008 was over bloated by 2 million voters, yet Ghanaians did not doubt his legitimacy. Now that our voter register is the cleanest ever, the doubting Thomaes are at their best games.

1. The petitioners presented to the Supreme court further and better particulars as per the orders of the courts for all the 11,916 polling stations and NOT 4,709 polling stations. Even though the court's order was for the 4,709 on the 5th of Feb. However, on the 7th of Feb. the court agreed to the petitioners request to amend their petition, thereby increasing their figure from 4,709 to 11,916 polling stations. So in order not to waste any further time, they decided to submit the names of all the 11,916 polling stations that some irregularities took place. Please note that they did not submit the names of any polling station that biometric verification did not take place, as this was not part of the order. The order was specific; provide the names of all the polling stations that some irregularities took place.
2. For EC's response to a request by the petitioners for data on the number of registered voters abroad. EC indicated approximately 2,843. Made up of 705 staff working in various missions and embassies and about 2,138 being students on scholarships and soldiers working on peacekeeping mission.
Please note that, the provisional register before the registration abroad was 13,917,366 voters. This increased to 14,158,890, a difference of 241,524 after the registration abroad. So it calls for some explanations from the EC why they only provided data for 2,843 voters who registered abroad as against their own register which indicated that they registered 241,524 voters abroad for the elections in 2012.
Folks, I hope this little piece will bring some clarity on this particular issue.
There are implications for this disparity, but will leave that for the court to sort that out.

If NPP allege that the 241,000 unaccounted voters were credited to Mahama, they have to prove it. The EC can say it made an error in the figures, but NPP still have to show exactly which costituency contained the 241, 000 votes, sice the elections were conducted from constituency to constituency. One other point, it is possible and even accepted that there were irregularitiesas alleged by NPP, but to what extent waere these consistently worked in favour of Mahama is what NPP must prove. Remember you cannot disenfranchise voters through no fault of theirs.

That is the 241,000 people we have been talking about all this while. The list includes the residents of Akuse, Ghanaians on peace keeping duties, students on government scholarships, prisoners and other Ghanaians who for one reason or the other could not be registered when the registration exercise started in March 2012.
If what I am saying is not true, I bet the NPP would have held a press conference immediately they received the information from the EC. But the atmosphere surrounding Nana Akufo-Addo is all hushed because their dreams have been totally shattered with the information provided by the EC"

Does the foregoing not give credence to the allegations of impropriety and fraud leveled against the respondents by Nana Akuffo Addo and his team? In addition to the evidence produced by the petitioners this new twist and doctoring of figures by the EC lend legitimacy to the claims put forward by the petioners and makes their case easier to prove than before. No amount of lyings, falsifications, globe-trotting and manipulations can erase the questions of doubt and distrust hanging over the heads of Mahama and his EC collaborators . They're up in arms over the allegations of electoral fraud and are now walking a very slippery slope to the dunghill below and it's only a matter of time before they come crashing down and make their anticipated exit from public life in ignominy.

Get a transcript from the court and you will realise it is NPP that are now confused as their evidence is being blown away as a myth because they have failed to understand the issue at stake. Ec is right. It will make sense when the journalists report accurately. At the moment the people are being misled by in accurate information. The NPP lawyers are quieter than usual because they thought EC will give them data on 241,000 abroad but the EC is telling them there is nothing like 241,000 votes abroad! These are the official data we have on registered voters within our diplomatic staff and have gone further by breaking down the figures so check it and get back to us for whatever you do not understand.
