Akuffo Add0 is arrogance because he and his compatriots have taken their case to the supreme court (as stipulated by the 1992 constitution under the electoral laws). That is unfortunate indeed. The writer of this article is to a larger extent, influenced by "inferiority complex syndrome" or out of "ethnocentric reasoning" or purely out of ignorance. JJ Rawlings and his friends overthrew the government of the Late Dr Hilla Liman could that mean Rawlings is arrogance or what? These crops of Latter day Saints on the political arena demonstrate the over all ignorance and ethnic polarization of the Ghanaian political scene to the benefit of greedy politicians who have no social and economic message to the ordinary Ghanaian. I want to make it clear that if President Mahama and the Dr Afari Gyan have nothing to fear then they should wait for the verdict from the supreme court. Akufo-Addo is rather helping to deepen the democratic dispensation in Ghana. After all Akufo-Addo is not a coup maker. The writer should get his facts well before writing and shed off the "INFERIORITY COMPLEX SYNDROME" clothing he is wearing.

Even though I am not affiliated to any political party in Ghana, I feel Akuffo Addo's action is going to have a very positive impact in Ghana's democratic efforts IF AND ONLY IF the majority of the people will see the positive side of this lawsuit.
The crux of the matter is about PERFORMANCE of "Dr" Afari Djan and his Electoral Commission. Ghanaians expected the EC lead by Afari Djan to deliver, a flawless, unbiased, well managed and free and fair elections, but rather what Afari Gyan and his team delivered was a skewed and incompetent electoral management processes which has lead us to the current state.
Akuffo Addo's decision should lead to electoral reform spearheaded by someone who is competent, has integrity and credibilty who can streamline and improve the electoral processes prior to the next election.
It is time Ghanaians do away with the status quo and put on their thinking caps; we have for far too long been given mediocre services and we don't complain about it. We complain everyday about bribery and corruption at the ministries - passport office, dvla, ports and harbours, etc., for the poor quality of services we receive, but how many of us have had the guts to sue any of these organisation for poor quality services? Akuffo Addo has the guts to sue for lack of performance by the EC, hence let's support him to pray that this we lead to SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN THE ELECTORAL PROCESSES with it ramifications in other publict sector services; for as you cited, According to article 46
of the Constitution “Except ... in the performance of its functions, Electoral Commission, ...”
The EC did not perform its assigned tasks competently and with due diligence, hence this lawsuit.

As a journalist of your calibre I thought you would have told us what the constitution says about election petitions but you chose to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians by quoting a portion that talks about control of the EC. If what Akuffo Addo is petitioning the court for is illegal why is the court entertaining them? Can you answer that to Ghanaians? Today you see Akuffo Addo as pompous because he is going to court to challenge the verdict of the ECwhich favours the party of your choice. Is he the first to go to court over elections? When Rojo and some people took the EC to court after the 2004 elections, what was that and what did you say or are you telling Ghanaians that that protest was humble but Akuufo Addo's is popmpous? I am happy Ghana does not belong to you alone and remember even in defeat you should know that Akuffo Addo has 5miilion of Ghanaians wishing he were the president so your statements should take that into account. if you dont know any society that is almost equally divided along the middle like ours is in a dire situation and each side must be cautious in how we present issues.

One day President Mahama was driving along when suddenly he spotted a Rabbit known as Akuffo in the middle of the road. He tried to swerve, but still ended up hitting it. Visibly shaken, President Mahama got out of the car and started weeping over what he had done. A few minutes later, a woman known as Ursula stops and asks him why he’s crying over the Akuffo Rabbit.

So a man bought a plot of land from a chief got all the relevant paperwork that clearly spelt out his ownership of the land. He travelled outside to engage in a little business and when he came back, another individual had cleared his land, and put up a structure to the lentile level. The encroacher knowing the benevolence of the courts with regards to structures erected up to the lentile level felt that, he was ok and therefore, went about jeering at the rightful owner of the parcel of land. The rightful and original owner of the land, decided upon careful reflection to take the matter to court although he was adviced by some of his family members and even the chief was ready to allocate another plot of land for him. The rightful owner of the land was told that, in such cases the courts always ruled in favour of the one who had erected a building on the land up to the lentile level because, razing the structure to the ground was just a waste of money and therefore, the encroacher, with this knowledge never stopped jeering at the rightful owner and taunting him. The case went to court and the inevitable happened. For the first time, the court declared that, the encroacher had committed an offence, his building was razed to the ground. He was again further ordered to pay compensation to the rightful owner and finally, he was put in jail for about 6 months. When everybody in the town heard of the court ruling, there was great joy in the town, because, the chief of the town had virtually sold plots of land under his jurisdiction to more than 2 people and about 80% of the people in the town had suffered a similar fate. However, the chief was so powerful and he was greatly feared, so the people had all being cowered into submission by the brazen actions of the chief. By this ruling, the towns people held a forum appealed to the Omanhene and the chief was destooled.
