With the increase in social networks, I think a greater responsibility lies on individual in terms of data privacy and confidentiality. I believe that we only need to provide information on these networks only when it is NECESSARY. With regard to the banks and other organisations which you mentioned, information governance ought to be key in their organisational strategy especially if these organisations do not want to damage their credibility. Because once trust is destroyed, it is difficult to regain.

Trust me, Data Security is highly abused in Ghana as no one takes it serious. I just gave out some personal details to a friend to use at an institution without considering the high risk associated with my action. An eye open ...
