Afriffa, Gen Akuffo, Gen Acheampong, and all those who plunged Ghana into untold hardship. Today, Ghana is laughing loud and thankful to God for using J.J to emancipate the country.
Worse still, American congressmen have cautioned that Nigeria is on the verge of collapse and disintegration. In the last twelve months, some conglomerates have closed their plants in the country and relocated to Ghana. Among them are Dunlop and Mitchelen Plc. Only recently, more companies have informed the general public they would soon be folding operations in Nigeria to resettle in Ghana. Remmember the story behind the free Golf cars. To begong it all, IK Achampong did not have a plan. He only took Ghana for a ride. He thought of bringing Nkrumah back to Ghana but it was his time in office that Nkrumah passed away therefore he and his men decided to continue ruling. He could have got Nkrumah back but because he played a delay strategy, Nkrumah died on his watch.
Akufo took Ghana for a big time ride also, but he and his men were the biggest hypocrites. They also did not have any idea of what or where to take Ghana.
Upon all this, Rawling came into power which was really necessary. He also stayed on trying to fix stuffs, but the outside world refused him therefore his ruling became very difficult to brake through. He handed over to Liman. Liman became a jockey and gave the govenace back to Rawlings so that he could get it back but things did not work his way. Liman was trying to do away indirectly the crazy politicians that he got himself with, so he gave the govenace back to Rawlings so that he could have,
. Rawling Bering claver also saw that Liman has no balls to stand as a leaders decided to keep the govenace thus the meaning of the Dec. 31. So Ghanians should no blame Rwalings here.
Now when Rawlibgs came to power knowing he can not rule, got himself all this civilians, who calme to know politics to do the fulling with, these crazy people lime ET Menshah and co. Also came in with their selfish motives, and stole all the wealth of our nation.
Look Rawling among all our leaders was the only president, besides Dr. ka Busia, who had a vision for Ghana call the vision 2020. I need you guys to go into the so call books and review this and you will see what it entails.
Do not Blame Rawlings for he did what he could do. This guy love Ghana, therefore he opened up to the advice of the United States and gave room to Drmocracy with the free speech you and I are enjoying now. Remmember he did not before stayed in the class room the learn any thing like politics.
Go into the bible and read about the Jehus revolution. God some times chose people like that to pave a good way. Therefore Rawlings, came to pave the way to our current Democratic process. He could have refuse any advice from any quarters, yet he opened up to Democracy. I remmember Bro. Mumuah Gadafi told him not to listen to any out side influence. Also Cuba Castro, told him the same thing, but this young man for the love of his nation did listen to the words of president Bill Clinton when he came to Ghana and the constitunal Assamble who lied down the process of our current democracy.
If he had refused, who would have been the man to toppled him. All these so called Boakye Gyan and the rest of all escaped int self exile.
If people have a blame, let's us Bokye Gyan he was the one who introduced the firing squad measures in Ghana, and killed all those of our leaders.
I am a NPp supported, but I would not for a moment blame Rawling. I was living in the Military barracks, Burma Camp, I was born there, I have worked fo almost 10yrs. At the 37 military hospital so I know what I am saying. The June 4 Revolution was nessary. It was a good requirement for Ghana. The 31st dec. Revolution was a gift to Rawling from Dr. H. Lineman. So who would you blame.

I am in my 50's and can confidently say I have seen more than enough.Yes, Rawlings mounted the scene when there was widespread corruption.The "Kutu gov" armchair generals turned the castle into a brothel. JJ was hailed at the time because he "claimed" his priority was to root out corruption and injustice and institute accountability. The initial intentions were good. When he left the scene the first time for Liman, things had stabilized to a large extent( although large amounts had beed deposited in "strange" accounts.) His ewe tribesmen (Mark Cofie and group)insisted and financed him to topple the constitutionally elected government and estalish a revolution which he did. JJ's reign transformed from the AFRC through PNDC to NDC before he became a referee player in the 1992 elections.This was the final step to legitimize his rule for a further 8 years. In the last 12 years of his reign, there was more corruption than Ghana had previously seen.If he killed a thousand for corruption and wealth, ten thousand of his cronies deserved the death penalty. Nyebro (the Ewe or Anlo or Voltarians) became the "royal clan" of Ghana. Opponents were killed or forced to flee the country. Those were dark years in Ghana. He sold state enterprises to himself and his friends/relations/tribesmen. I know the bible says the truth. He who lives by the gun shall die by the gun. It's just a matter of time, JJ.

There were two people in Ghana's history with the level of support and goodwill required to become real transformational leaders: Kwame Nkrumah and Rawlings. Nkrumah's legacy is still around to be seen. Rawlings had the greatest opportunity to take the country to the next level. I think he became too obsessed with his own survival and missed a golden opportunity. He will be remembered but not for anything enduring that he has done. His was a truly misssed opportunity.

Life was unbearable but his arrival onto the political stage saved a doomed nation.That`s a fact.

Those who witnessed it and refuse to acknowledge his efforts should be ashamed of themselves,but we leave that to posterity to judge the man.

Look at the rest of West Arica or Africa in General. Name one person who came in with a coup and left or ruled after as a civilian and is humble.

NNP follows and leaders claim to be educated elite, but the fact is they are all crooks.

We all know lawyers are expert theirs who know how to manipulate facts and gloss over things.

NNP has no rights to point fingers at NDC, name any NDC leader who had Gold moulded to award himself highest medle of state .

Name any NDC leader who caused the state to loose money, current court cases are all debts and cases created by the NNP crooks.

1984: A quick run to the IMF brought Structural Adjustment and PAMSCAD. Trade liberalization, the very policies for which Busia was overthrown and Limmann was overthrown, were brought back. The economy started taking off then but because of dictatorship, foreign and domestic investment was low until 2000.
The liberalization of the economy and the promotion of democracy under Kufuor and the HIPC debt relief is what revived the Ghanaian economy.
