THOSE THEY REFER TO AS "WORLDLY PEOPLE " ARE 100% BETTER THAN THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES MEMBERS OF COP.IF YOU WANT THE BEST FORNICATORS,LIERS,GREEDY PEOPLE, WICKED PEOPLE, THOSE BAPTIZED IN THE SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY, PRIDE & ARROGANCE, THEY ARE ALL IN THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST. THE BEST GOSSIPERS ARE IN THE CHURCH. THE IMMORALITY IN THEIR YOUTH LEADERS IS DISGUSTING. MOST OF THEM THINK THAT SEATING IN CHURCH EVERY SINGLE DAY IS THE BLUE PRINT FOR HEAVEN. THE CHURCH IS NOW A SOCIAL CLUB PLAGUED WITH FUNERALS, WEDDINGS, NAMING CEREMONIES, BABY SHOWERS ETC.THE SPIRITUALITY IS GONE.

  There is no democracy in the church. You cannot express an opinion. If you do,the threaten you with the Holy Spirit which most of them pretend they have by speaking in false tongues. Those who claim to speak in tongues are the great gossipers outside.But the Holy Spirit is not a gossip so why do deceive yourself & the world that you're speaking in tongues? .This is what I am talking about. No suggestion boxes for people to speak their mind. All church members are made to pay tithes, collections & what they call special "afore".But they account all finances to just a few people calling themselves "Presbytery ".How absurd! .A how is this different from communism.

  Ha ha ha! its your choice so please hold your peace. They didnt force you to join them, you were interested in the drumming, dancing and the 'show' show'. May be you were drawn by the 'class' and the friendship that exists, from what you've written it is obvious that you are disillussioned. The way out is to read and study the bible. You've already identified some errors, so you are nearly on the path to salvation through faith and not works.
  It appears you want to know what and where your contribution goes, well its used for the upkeep of the ministers.

Climate change is also affecting religiousity in Ghana today. Its fashionable to belong to a church after you've got the worldly materials and want to be seen and recognised. So you are right, its not about heaven, spirituality, bible reading/studying etc. Its a club a sunday one as we have the various clubs during the week. Ha ha ha " pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love thee, peace be within the walls and prosperity within thy palaces. God bless, keep searching, the truth is not far from you.

  The church has become more inward looking and it is time spirituality leads us to bring satisfying spiritual food to the masses externally.
  
  I am forever grateful to God almighty for our church and leaders..the move is on!!!

You can contact me to get the real history including copy of the lett.er from NKRUMAH . After splitting the apostolic church, he named his GHANA APOSTOLIC .and the other GOLD COAST APOSTOLIC. So you see it took the intervention of the PRESIDENT to clarify the confusion

  Just to correct a part, the CHURCH OF CHRIST mentioned should be distinguished by inserting in bracket (SM) from CHURCH OF CHRIST, GHANA.
  Rev Mckweon did not established nor founded this church,THE CHURCH OF CHRIST has a long history dating back to AD 33 ( first Pentecost after the resurrection),so cannot be established by Rev Mckweon. Truly Rev Mckweon is a shining example of sacrifice and vision which is lacking in today's 'prophets' and 'apostles'. He did not take any of these titles, he served with humility. Unfortunately,his followers today need these titles to serve. It shows how far the Ghanaian 'religionists' have misread the scriptures.
  The present leaderships must hold a PhD in divinity to be appointed successors, a shame. Yet they ve made no significant contribution to where the Rev Mckweon left off.
  In Ghana, the worship of personalities ( especially ministers) have driven these men to look for degrees so as to be recognised. You ask yourself what does the degree contribute to their sermon? Its funny listening to them preach, their messages lack substance, passion, contents are poor; even a non trained preacher can do better than them. But, that is what we Ghanaians like. May Rev Mckweon's soul rest in peace, he has played his part.
  Because the church hahs now become a business, it needs to managed by secular intellectuals, hence every minister is rushing to attain a degree. Even those from Kejetia whi have flooded Accra with no education are calling themselves Rev Dr Bishop etc. Ha ha ha. God help us.

  I am the nephew of Pastor James McKeown. I have an Ashanti elephant stool presented to him in the 1940s but have little detail about the circumstances. My mother Margaret, James' sister, is still alive but at 96yo can't remember much about it except James brought it back to Northern Ireland in the 1940s. Anyone able to help with possible sources of info. I can be easily found on facebook as my Christian name is not very common.
