You appear to manifest the problem with the educated elite. If you quote people without taking into consideration the context, you will be guilty of misinformation. As bad as Agyapong's choice of words might have been, he acted in a particular context which you sadly failed to acknowledge. As one of the educated elite yourself, you knew the context of the "all die be die" statement and I expect you to show the same maturity you expect of others. Half-truths cannot be used for admonition.

I am sure you don't fully know the political history of Ghana. Ghana would have been better off if our post independence political and economic system had been one of regional autonomy instead of the centralized system advocated by Nkrumah.
If Ghana is going to be like Rwanda, it will be because of injustice and unfairness.
You don't expect the silent majority tribes to accept forever the position they find themselves in Ghana. The situation whereby the minority tribes control the centralized resources and use it at the exclusion of the majority Ashantis and the Akans. No group of human beings whether Africans or Whites anywhere would accept that knowing very well that about 90% of the national resources come from their area.
This is the main problem facing us in Ghana today which political leaders refuse to see or accept.
Every election time minority tribal political leaders use divide and rule campaign tactics against Ashantis and Akans.
In the 1940 & 50s Nkrumah did it by promising the creation of Bono Ahafo region instead of Western Ashanti that it used to be called.
Rawlings call Ashantis all kind of names and incites other tribes against Ashantis in every election cycle because of Ashanti's historical background of greatness.
Let it be clear to all Ghanaians, Ashantis will never start a road to Rwanda but pretty soon we will start asking for what we rightly deserve from the national resources. Base on what our contribution to the national covers is we are going to demand what is fair for our region's development since the national governments since independent had failed us.
We are considered "bush" "kookoasefour" and uneducated primitive people who are supposed to work the cocoa farms to fund scholarships to the wards of the educated Gas, Ewes and Northners.
The response to this Ashanti request will determine if Ghana go Rwanda or not. The request will be polite and within the laws of the land.
We are hoping the leader of Ghana then will be wise in his/her response when the request is presented.
Ashantis cannot be taken for granted for so long.

What do the politicians do? They harp on our differences all the time for their selfish reasons. I wish we could ignore them

This is a very insightful observation by brother Twumasi.I have said this so many times that there is the need to re-write Ghanas history.People like Adu Bohenes writings should be used as toilets rolls. His writings were nothing but impious laughter. The orchidaceous moisture of the bogus Ashanti history will soon be history. But these mangoe tree historians from the North can not challenge their writings but go with the follow.
