A small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the
stand in a trial--a grandmotherly, elderly woman. He approached her
and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"
She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you Mr. Williams. I've known
you since you were a young boy. And frankly, you've been a big
disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate
people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a
rising big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will
amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do he pointed across
the room and asked, "Mrs. Williams, do you know the defense attorney?"
She again replied, "Why, yes I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he
was a youngster, too. I used to babysit him for his parents. And he,
too, has been a real disappointment to me. He's lazy, bigoted, he has
a drinking problem. The man can't build a normal relationship with
anyone and his law practice is one of the shoddiest in the entire state.
Yes, I know him."
At this point, the judge rapped the courtroom to silence and called
both counselors to the bench. In a very quiet voice, he said with
menace, "If either of you asks her if she knows me, you'll be in jail
for contempt within 5 minutes!"

The hypocrisy and sycophancy of Bokor Haram is without par. The question to ask this NDC apologist is: Has he himself discussed issues that are before court in his vacuous articles before? If the answer is yes, then he should shut his mouth, the public are getting informed about issues that are of interests to them, instead of being kept in the dark.

The Supreme Court judges have so far not expressed any problem with the public discussing the issues, meaning they are not likely to be influenced by what people say; they will be guided by the law and facts in front of them in their deliberations. What is the beef of Bokor Haram?

Your mischief to muzzle the public is laid bare. In the US that you are based, matters before courts are often discussed on TV. Have you heard of Nancy Grace program on CNN or HLN? Go figure.

You have a certain disdain for the common folks. In your head you are thinking they lack wisdom and are illiterate or not highly educated, hence not capable to discuss topical issues or matters before the courts. Dumb ass, get off your ivory tower smoke-joint. Nonsense!

Armed robbery is on the rise,foreigners have taken over the best part of our economy,meanwhile political leaders don't give a damn about what is happening to the masses and no huge rallies have been organised yet,corruption is at its epoch,the coffers of the government is empty so Bokor the least of our problem is this thing called contempt of court because if any big explosion

Those who drafted the 1992 constitution did this country a great disservice in not making room for election disputes to be resolved at the SC before inaugugration of an incoming Govt. The 1992 constitution needs amendment for election diputes to be settled in January and iaauguration of new president in February

Anyway, it appears you are just awakening to the fact of lawlessness in Ghana and by Ghanaians, with govt functionaries at the centre of it as worst culprits. I raised the issue in my "Staying in the Frying Pan..." as one important issue President Mahama must address as a matter of urgency. However, as is unfolding, his main priorities seem to be religious! Organising pligrimages for some pastors to Israel and establishing an ambassadorial post to the Vatican! The man is turning out to be bonkers!

Man! Can you believe that a court bailiff on duty was arrested and locked up by the Police until the offence he was detailed to serve an injunction against was committed and the Chief Justice hasn't even raised a whimper about this gross violation? And yet, President Mahama has just chosen the chief criminal behind such a gross disrespect to the laws of Ghana, Mr Patrick Agboba, whose rogue police sons spearheaded such an outrage, to be a member of the Council of State! Tweah! The man has lost his marbles! He better reflect and re-shape, or else ....

Of course, the NPP in power was just equally lawless. They all disrespect court injunctions and the courts and judges do nothing to rein them in.

Ghana is a backward country with backward and lawless people! Let us just admit it and start campaigning seriously to have that changed, as some of us have been doing at great expense for a while now. That's why we're prosecuting Patrick Agboba, Kofi Awoonor, Agbodakpi and their cohorts in crime for contempt of court, something the state in civilised countries would have done on our behalf!

Welcome to the reality in Ghana!

GhANA IS NOT FULL OF LAWLESSNESS. IT IS FULL OF INDIVIDUAL SO-CALLED KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SOLD INTEGRITY FOR A MESS OF POTRTAGE. The IDIOTS also think that possession of certificates denotes being educated.

Alfie, I said it before the elections, several times. I even had an open letter addressed to Mahama posted on this very Ghanaweb and on his web site. It was re-posted by the Web Administrator after the apptment of Agboba to the Council of State, so you can read it by searching for my name, Kwawukume, in the articles archive. It is on ModernGhana, SpyGhana, etc. too, dating back to before the elections. The lawlessness has been touching me since Rawlings time and I've been most vocal against it, if you are indeed familiar with my writings in cyberspace since the 90s, which you are not.

The case against Agboba, Awoonor and Co. started before the elections and is before an Accra Fast Track Court. Next sitting is on Monday 25, March.

Are you sure they sold integrity for only a mess of pottage, the way they are enjoying nyafu, nyafu? And is that not what is creating the lawlessness, since they are the people in charge?
