At the same time, the same people we call "peaceful" can break out into instant justice mode and violently lynch a "presumed" thief in a heartbeat..
Having said the above, I think Ghana's security forces must OVER prepared for what may lie ahead- afterall, there has been numerous threats in the media on part of both the NPP and NDC youths.
I think the most threatening rhetoric however points to NPPers who have more than hinted that they will not accept anything less their Nana being installed as the "king" of Ghana-
Because there has been numerous utterances of violent language in the media and the opposing group threatening to meet "boot for boot", I hope the security forces are VERY PROATIC in preparing for whatever may ensue when the TURTLE SC finally comes to a final decision regarding election 2012..
I think it will be wise for the gov't to begin sensitizing the populace regarding public order laws, and what happens when one intentionally breaks them, messages of peace and unity on the air waves will help greatly as Ghanaians are particularly glued to their Radios, and are active participants in Radio discourses!

Blessings, stoking the embers of political tension started in the kitchen of camp NPP a week before the D-day since such is their stock-in-trade from the womb of time. It was obviously clear on the heels of Kumasi Declaration that they were not going to play ball should the voters say nay to Akufo Addo. So, barely halfway into the vote counting, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had secured a first round victory with 51.3 percent of total votes cast.
A statement that is premature and inconsistent with the law, which only mandates the Electoral Commission (EC) to declare election results. But, they were determined to undermine the mandate of the (EC) despite the obvious which none is privy to. In fact, it took some convincing nerves of steel to retrain a great number of NDC’s foot-soldiers not to heed to NPP’s boisterous and provocative nature before, during and after the forgone elections. That, sister, kept the peace we so famously cherish today and our renowned democratic credential intact for the good of our home sweet home.

Ghanaians keep on writing articles blaming the politician but shirk their own responsibility to monitor and question the doings of politicians.
The fact is Ghanaians are not interested in asking questions of authority. In fact it is an African disease. We therefore get the leadership that we deserve.
The two parties are quite satisfied with the NPP-NDC dichotomy because it helps them to conceal bad governance. We can tolerate a government spending past its budget with no explanation because it looks good to NDC but bad to NPP. The middle classes have decided not to ask the necessary questions. The media cannot analyse isuues either deliberately or the issues are beyond their comprehension.
Thus we deserve what we get. Until we remove the NDC-NPP lenses from our eyes, politicians will forever play us. Whiles the dichotomy lasts, a lot will continue to fall between the cracks. I do not blame the politicians - they are being smart. It is high time the Ghanaian becomes smart too to check them!
