I wonder what would have happened if someone else not from northern Ghana was the CEO of SADA. Ghanaians we need development and not ethnicity. Let people who are capable and willing do the job and not where he or she comes from. Let us strive for results and not mediocrity. SADA should leave the small areas to NGOs and concentrate on big things that will change the savannah zone or else after 10 years no change will be noticed.

If this Justice Sarpong guy has been following the developments nd explanations given regarding the guinea fowl project, he would not have come out with this scandalous and vicious article. Indeed the freedom to express oneself should not lead to such insanity. Ghanaians are sitting down whilst our leaders are being libeled with such careless abandon. Let Lordina Mahama attempt to sue this scoundrel of Justice Sarpong(if that is his real name at all) and hell will break loose with people saying that the first fmily is intolerant. These distractors of development must be held in check.

Soo SAD, this SADA idea is already a FLOP. A BAD beginning indeed! This SADA discussion is being made to look like the property of the three Northern Regions which in reality, is not true. The real truth is, Government of Ghana is developing the three northern regions and part of Brong Ahafo to come to terms with the development of the southern Ghana using SADA as tool. It is not that any funding going into the SADA project is just thrown out to any individual to develop a commercial entity to propel that as is being used today. Going into partnership with Asongtaba owning the larger share is against the trend of SADA establishment. Again, the investigative element narrowing to the three Northern Regional Ministers is a laughing matter. Why? Should be any investigation, it should involve the whole state investigative body. Ghana should not be treated this way. My caution to the entire northerners is that SADA must work else, the state cannot afford to look for another FUNDING to equal the developmental in-equality in future

Prosecutors: N.Y. Democrat tried to bribe way onto GOP mayoral ballot
By Chris Boyette, CNN
updated 10:58 AM EDT, Tue April 2, 2013
(CNN) -- New York state Sen. Malcolm Smith and New York City Councilman Dan Halloran were arrested Tuesday morning on charges they schemed to fix the city's 2013 mayoral election through fraud and bribery, according to prosecutors.
The U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan alleges that Smith, a Democrat, bribed Halloran, a Republican, to help guarantee Smith a spot on the Republican ballot in the November election.
Four other people were charged in the case, including Bronx GOP Chairman Jay Savino and Queens Republican Vice Chairman Vincent Tabone, who prosecutors say agreed to support Smith's bid in exchange for bribes.
Smith, Halloran, Savino, Tabone and two other people have been charged with conspiracy to bribe officials and other public corruption charges, the U.S. attorney's office announced Tuesday.
According to court documents, Smith met with an undercover FBI agent in November and, believing the agent to be a wealthy real estate developer, asked the agent to contact county GOP leaders and persuade them to support his bid for the GOP mayoral candidacy.
Later that day, Halloran, a former NYPD officer, met the agent at a restaurant in Queens, New York, where prosecutors say he agreed to act as a liaison for Smith, facilitating bribes, according to the documents.

Center to all this corruption now is the ewe tribalism that has a stranglehold on the ndc and now most of the state agencies that are to combat this menace. yes corruption exists in all countries but ours has become more notorious than the nigerian , during kuffuor's time it was know he and his cronies would try and secure a 0.5 to 5% commission now ndc is known for not less than 20% going up all the way to 200 300 or even 500% . loans achieve even parliamentary approval are withdrawn as business wise it just doesnt make sense. the civil service especial ministry of finance has turned into a money grabbing arm twisting mafia that up to 3 years ago would frustrate any endeavor undertook en if one would not pay , in short the process would move at a snails pace . the last couple of years if you dont pay your files and docs would go missing or you would eventually be accused of defrauding the state or some other fabricated heinous crime and end up with the bni , police or some other agency of repression fighting for your life. in short would take by force from you what you did not willingly give. Some now advocate for JJ methods of dealing with this system of doom, but rawlings style of governance can never come back as the revolution propaganda and media hype was nothing but a sophisticated cover and camouflage of the ewe persecution of the Akans mainly the ashantis as by the end of the Acheampong era most govt institutions and factories were being managed by Ashantis, today most are in the hands of northerners , Gas and ewes so to clean up the babies and fruits of the revolution with another is impossible , the only solution is now a civil war . now tribalistically speaking without being accused again of chauvinism or Akan nationalism we have a situation whereby this alliance of the ewes , part of the gas and northerners , that is less than 15 % of the population by varios means of election engineering , rigging divide and rule now are looting as quickly as they can all the wealth of the nation as they know this can not last forever . unfortunately when they are done we shall be left with a war and no future for our children due to our own laziness to see the truth for what it really is . here is a govt so busy with their cover up for the SADA that not a single minister or leader to come out this Easter with a message of hope as their hearts are filled with so much evil and hate . yes this govt will leave one day for sure despised and hated by the people , never to come back again.

Evil sometimes prevails not because there are too many bad people but because good people do nothing about it. For starters note that almost every politician is corrupt. I can recall only Kwame Nkrumah only had an estate house or his mother was given one after his death. All other leaders since (including many of Nkrumah's govt) went into politics as "mere" men but came out filthy rich. The level of corruption is too much especially in the last 25 years. Since Rawlings "left" the scene politics has become the most lucrative venture/career. I wonder what value can be placed on Rawling's estate at East Legon, ET Mensah's house at Prampram......yet people were executed for corruption in 1982. The present level of corruption is just around tipping point. Public funds are amassed by the very people who are supposed to be the caretakers whilst the citizenry wallow in abject poverty. Most of the politicians and the elite DO HAVE arrangements in place to ensure constant supply of water, electricity and all the necessities and more. They will tell us they will build bridges for us where there are no rivers to cross. With this level of corruption, I dare say that if this Govt stays in power for another SIX MONTHS, I can confidently predict a real revolution borne out of a nationwide uprising. Mark my words.

Justice, thank you for coming back to me. Like you, I have become involved in this forum because I feel matters of national interest ought to be our collective concern. In fact if you read my postings, you will find that I have not spared anyone, including the likes of Michael Bokor. I tend to like objective writings, whichever side it supports. I am also quite averse to a show of disrespect to the "office of the president" whoever the incumbent is, hence my stance when people are "insulting" president Mahama. You will also notice that I have been critical even of the president and wrote scathingly about the recent issue about the "Israel Trip". I have also criticised his appointment of people like Ayariga and am not convinced about Avoka, ET Mensah and Ablakwa whom I find obnoxious and quite arrogant. Similarly I have been critical of the NDC so-called group for the regional executives etc. who recently threatened violence.
Justice, the truth is, I do not belong to, nor do I support any other parties. I am a 'ONE-NATION' non-tribalistic person with a strong Nkrumaist preference although I cannot see a credible Nkrumaist party in Ghana at the moment. I believe in free enterprise and support some of the NPP's vision in that direction. I have also praised President Kuffuor on some of his policies especially in respect of agriculture and urged him to push for food and nutrition security.
About Mahama, I rather admire him as an individual and have been impressed by his lack of arrogance and demeanour in the face of what I believe is sometimes unfair characterisation and insults (some predicated on tribal sentiments). I cannot deny my respect for the guy, but trust me, I will critically appraise whatever he and his government do.
So, Justice, all I ask of you is that we should set aside our individual differences which let's face it, are rather minuscule compared to what binds us together first as Ghanaians, and then as Africans. By all means you may have your party leanings, but let' be fair, objective and above all strive together for the improvement and 'betterment' of the nation. Our national development should make us all feel proud but no single individual, group or party holds the secret to the attainment of national glory.
The issue of corruption is everywhere and must be condemned in its entirety. But such attacks and condemnation must always be based on facts and prevailing evidence. Even where there is a suspicion of corruption, by all means we should bring it into the open and allow it to be properly investigated, but must not hasten to blame one person, group or government when in fact it is individual;s (of all party persuasions) who engage in such acts which do our country no good. I am happy to dialogue with you in this manner on all things and by all means, point out things when you feel I am wrong and I will be happy to respond.

Paul, thanks for coming back to clarify things for me. Though you see me as not being objective but I have written copiously against some people in NPP including President Kuffour who I condemned for awarding himself medals, something I have never seen or heard. As a matter of fact, I was the one who coined the term BOKASSANIZATION for him. I criticized Anabel reappointment as Health Minister and condemned the primitive behaviour of former Central Regional Minister, Edxumadze.
Now it is the Ndc that is in power and I will condemn the NPP like I did Kennedy Agyapong when he called for the killing of Gas and Ewes in Asahanti region. MAHAMA you might like him is a corrupt man. Even President Mills realised that and tried to investigate some contracts he signed on behalf of Ghana.
I will continue to hold this administration legs to the fire without any fear or favour as long as it continues to falter. Thank you Paul for matured discourse.

"NPP in 8 years looted Ghana more than what NDC could do in 16 years!" HUH????
What are you trying to say? Rawlings sold 300 companies to Ndc honchos. He took Star hotel for himself and changed the name La Palm Hotel which he used SSNIT $100 million in pensioneers money to renovate.
He gave his wife all GNTC properties in Accra including 547 acres of land and buildings.
He gave his wife Ghanacan
He gave his wife a chocolate factory at Remain.
He took five houses 17 cars when he left in 2001.
Rawlings alone stole more than all Ghanaians ex Presidents combined.

Kufuor and two owners of the EO Group undeservedly pocket 300m dollars and Adofo, Sarpong, Akadu et al don't raise as much as a finger as to quetion the propriety of their conduct which brings them so much to the detriment of Ghana. His son who is declared judicially bankrupt by a competent US court can suddenly raise over 3m dollars in loans to purchase a luxury hotel and we don't get a wimper from Sarpong and his ilk on this odious transaction. We're told, and we have reason to believe same, that the Kufuor family is so rich that they now appear among Forbes' list of extremely rich Africans. Instructively, all these persons are Ashantis and in the thinking of Sarpong and his cohorts their ill-gotten wealth will benefit Ashanti so they musn't be reproached. But when the shoe is on the other foot then all hell breaks loose. Mr Gyimah has potentially caused a bigger financial loss to Ghana than Woyome but is it any wonder that we're not hearing or reading such putrid articles on him and his cupidity. He's Aahanti so he mustn't be denounced! Unfortunately for Agambire he's none of them and so must be pursued until he drops dead. If only he was an Osei, Opoku, Prempeh will the tablles have turned in his favour but being Agambire, the pepe man from Sirigu, his fate is sealed and like the classical greek tragedy, he must now submit to the Gods and await their intervention. Yet the evidence on the ground shows that Agambire and his rlg and Asongtaba Group of companies were actually propped up by the NPP when they notice its potential and a mutually symbiotic relationship in which the party was gernerously lavished with cash in return for juicy contracts ensued. The same relationship continues with the NDC and suddenly it's Mahama and Agambire and never Kufuor and Agambire. For those who care to know, lot of NPP politicians to date still live on the largesse of Agambire, so it may be wise to stop your puerile effusions on two decent whose only crime is not to be Ashsntis.

Why didn't the Ndc government prosecute the EO group if they did anything wrong? EO group did not get anything from the government of Ghana and its 1.75% share of the jubilee field came from KOSMOS. If EO group loses its share today, it will revert to Kosmos and will not make any difference what GHANA receive as a share from this partnership
This is really sad. A noble project targeted to help alleviate some of the poverty in the North by helping the poor Northern farmers has been hijacked by the few Northern elites who will become rich from this project that could have helped at least 10,000 people in the North rise above the poverty line. I knew it was going to be Northerners who will come and defend this scam being perpetrated against Northerners in particular and Ghanaians as a whole because it is our tax money being used to finance the Guinea fowl and tree planting projects. The same Northerners defending this scam by MAHAMA and Agambire will be the same people who will accuse the rest of Ghanaians for not developing the North
I don't know what the answer is but this is really sad how the poor Northerners continue defend the rich Northerners to cheat them.

Appearances they say are deceptive but they aren't always deceptive. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck why are we still doubting it's a duck? An incoming President determined to stem the tide of corruption that his administration is notorious for and change the poor public perception would have on the word go declared his personal assets and asked his people to do same or get fired. Mahama's collapse into incoherence on the subject and failure to act meant just one thing, maintain the status quo and damn the poor public perception of him and his inept and corrupt administration.
The decomposition of the fish we say starts from the head before it spreads to the rest of the body. How could we expect a corrupt general to check his corrupt subordinates? He lacks the moral courage to check the massive and pervasive corruption in the administration . Instead of the first gentleman that he should be Mahama chooses to be the first scoundrel, perpetuating a regimen of corruption made up of freeloaders.

On April 2nd 2013, I wrote an article titled,"President Mahama Is Presiding Over A Corrupt Administration" about the SADA partnership with Agam group of companies owned by Agambire to rear guinea fowl(AKONFEM)At that time, I wrote that it was a scam that Agambire has contributed almost $7.5 million to own 56% of this partnership.
Folks, I was right on the money then as it has been revealed by the CEO of SADA at the time Gilbert Iddi, who left office almost a year after the joint venture company was formed, says he does not know whether or not Asongtaba Cottage Industry and Exchange Program contributed any amount. The two directors of the company are former CEO of SADA, Gilbert Seidu Iddi who represented SADA, and Roland Agambire, CEO of the AGAMS Group. Asongbata(Agams) was supposed to pay 15 million Ghana Cedis and hold majority share of 56% and SADA was supposed to pay 12 million Ghana cedis for 44%. But Gilbert Iddi says SADA contributed a total of 15 million Ghana Cedis to the joint venture. But Gilbert Iddi says SADA contributed a total of 15 million Ghana Cedis to the joint venture.
I knew then that this was a scam cooked at the kitchen of President Mahama and his partner in crime, Agambire of Asongbata to fleece Ghanaians of their hard earned dollars and I have been proved right by Gilbert Iddi.
Below is part of the said article that appeared in the forum on April 2nd, 2013.
"Now Mr Mahama is the President whether Ghanaians voted for him or not, which is not the issue here but few months on the Presidency has exposed him as a corrupt man regarding the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority(SADA) Guinea fowl and tree planting projects. President Mahama is using his power as the President of Ghana to divert Taxpayers money to his busness partner, one Roland Agambire, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghanaian Telecommunications company, rLG communications to set up an NGO,Asongtaba Cottage Industries, which received about 8 million dollars of Taxpayers money(GHc15 million) to start the guinea farm project. What is the meaning of Asongtaba? Translated from Guruni language, it means ‘You scratch my back I scratch your back’ and that is exactly what Mahama and this Agambire guy are doing, they are scratching each others back with our tax cedis. They are fleecing Taxpayers out of our money. As noble as these two projects are if implemented to benefit the three Northern Regions farmers and to a larger extent, all Ghanaians, President Mahama and his business partner Agambire are using this fake NGO to divert taxpayers money into their own pockets. How is the people of the North going to benefit from this project which is supposed to alleviate some of the hardships in the North by resourcing as many farmers as we can by helping them to set up their own cottage industries if we hand over such a huge amount to one individual? How did an individual without any history in farming become the point man in this noble guinea fowl project that if properly implemented can alleviate a big chunk of the poverty in the North and become a foreign currency earner for the country since there is a big market out there for guinea fowl meat.
As usual in Ghana with any policy meant to help the poor, it is the elite amongst the Northerners like Agambire and Mahama who are going to benefit. If Agambire and his Asongbata NGO are going to hold 60% of this joint venture, can somebody account for their so called GHc25 million or $13 million contribution towards this project? Was their contribution in cash, land, goodwill, personal or combination of these? Mahama is the worst thing to happen to Northerners. The problem with Northerners is that, they always assume the Southerners, especially the Akans and to a larger extent, the Asantes are not for their best interest and blindly support anybody from the North even when it is not in their best interest. SADA is supposed to help the poor in the North but see how the Northern Elites have stolen what is meant to help the poor over there and let anybody accuse these Northern thieves and the poor Northerners will turn up in their numbers defending them. Ghana has sunk more than 16 million dollars in the planting of tick and other trees, supposedly five million trees but instead Agambire and his parners planted only 300,000 trees and pocketed more than thirteen million dollars no wonder giving one million dollars to Chris Brown to come to Ghana to smoke weed was not a big deal to Agambire and his rLG company.
Who are the people behind this Asongbata NGC? Chief Executive Officer of Ghanaian Telecommunications company, rLG communications, Roland Agambire, is the face behind Asongtaba Cottage Industries & Exchange Programme, the company behind the GH¢15 million Guinea fowl and GH¢33 million tree planting projects.Mr Agambire, a businessman with very close links to the President John Mahama, is a member of the Executive Council of this Asongtaba Cottage Industries and Exchange Programme, which was incorporated in the year 2004 and registered as a Non-Governmental Organization.
"The objectives of Asongtaba (translated from Guruni to mean ‘You scratch my back I scratch your back’) as spelt out on the ‘Form 3’ of the Company’s registration documents include: “To establish and train the youth in cottage industries like basketry etc., with the view to making them self employed; To help members in times of need; and To engage in cultural exchange programmes.” The business occupation of Roland Agambire, as stated on the form is that of an “Exporter” with residential address “H/No. 485/3, Madina, Accra”. As of 2004, four other Directors of the company included Miriam Ajavon, Lucy Ajavon, Paul Ajavon and William Asare. Strangely enough, all four directors have the same residential address as Mr Agambire and are all “Exporters”.
However, a notification in the change of directors was made to the Registrar General’s Department on October 30, 2009, where the original directors in the persons of Lucy Ajavon, Paul Ajavon and William Asare, all resigned from the company. George Yeye also resigned as secretary of the company and was replaced by Miriam Ajavon.
What really is going on here if this is not a scam Agambire and some people with political powers are trying to perpetrate on our country? The same Agambire is going to build the 10 billion hope city as a private Investor without Ghana knowing where he is getting his source of financing from. In as much as we should encourage people like Mr Agambire in helping to develop our country, they should not do it through corrupt means."
Just yesterday, April 29, 2014, it was reported on this cite that Agambire has paid a total of Ghc14.5 million to the State, as the first tranche of an amount of Ghc55.5 million expected to be recouped by the State.
So that is it? Is he not going to be prosecuted for defrauding the country? A cassava thief stole 500 cedis worth of Cassava that was recovered by the owner and he was still sentenced to prison for ten(10) but these pen thieves steal tens of millions of Ghana cedis and when they are caught all what they have to do is to pay the money back and walk away? If this is the penalty to pay for stealing from Daavi Ghana, then it is no wonder all the Ministers and government appointees are stealing everything that is not bolted down in the country.
What am I talking about? Even everything bolted down like oil rich fields are being sold to Nigeria con magnates by Mahama and his cronies and when somebody predicted that Arab spring will happen in Ghana, these Politicians were all over him. "OWUO SISI ASO" as we say in Akan, these thieves believe Ghanaians are too timid to embark on popular revolution but it is coming and these people might not live to enjoy their loot.
I wonder what would have happened if someone else not from northern Ghana was the CEO of SADA. Ghanaians we need development and not ethnicity. Let people who are capable and willing do the job and not where he or she comes f ...
