Very sad. Our Chief Justice seems too timid for the job. She wants to play it safe but she should be reminded that 'uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'.....Just as the CJ position goes with privileges so also are there responsibilities. If you are afraid of insults, personal attacks, vilification and then you don't accept such a position because even threats of death and death itself are parts of the package.

Is GHana and Kenya have same Constitutions?
Supreme Court Of Ghana is not following Kenyan's example, because the declared winner is now wanted by the (International Criminal Court)ICC, in The Hague, so the Supreme Court of Kenya decided to rushed Kenyatta to the Presidency.
Also in Ghana, The Supreme Court can't be bothered, because, Mahama is already decleared President and in power already.

First of all, like you, I am sure most Ghanaians are would have wished for a more speedier determination of the electoral dispute in Ghana. But you are wholly wrong to compare the Kenyan case to that of Ghana. Furthermore, you destroy your own argument from the onset by your obvious biases in favour of one side - the NPP. Now here are my reasons:
1. Your argument that the Chief Justice should have chaired the process is not based on any merit. I believe there are many reasons why the CJ in this case directed other Supreme Justices to sit on the case and this is within the constitutional provisions. Would you rather have had a one or two-week adjudication in which say, the president (Mahama) was declared the winner without detailed scrutiny? What would have been your (and other people on your side's) reaction? Would you have accepted the verdict?
2. You completely omit to state why there is a supreme court case, nor do you address the core reasons for the delay in the first place! That it took Nana Akuffo Addo and the other petitioners nearly 21 days for even file their original petition has completely eluded you. You also miss the core facts about the sheer volume, number and range of issues the petitioners brought forward to the court, and the fact that apart from calling the Electoral Commission into disrepute and challenging the president, they alleged gross malpractices and even at one time suggested 'complicity' between the EC and the NDC/President.
3. You have completely missed the point that in the Kenyan case, it was Raila Odinga (presidential candidate) who challenged the "results" of the elections, and not joined by any of his party members, least of all his part chairman as in the case of Ghana where Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey has in my opinion added to the complexity of the case by making it 'legitimate and possible' for the NDC to join the petition as 3rd respondent.
4. You also seem to have completely forgotten that unlike Kenya, the NPP petitioners are asking for the recall of over 4 million votes, and that they (the petitioners) are to a large extent responsible for the complexity of the case and hence the need for our Supreme Justices to take longer to deliberate on the case. Indeed it has been argued severally that the NPP petitioners' primary goal may not necessarily be to "win" the case, but to make the country "ungovernable" and to "discredit" the image of this president and his government to the international community - please check on the utterances and actions of your own NPP stalwarts including Otchere-Darko.
5. You acknowledge the roles of Dr Afari-Gyan and CJ Wood in helping to establish the standards being used in Kenya to resolve their own disputes but lament the fact that the CJ is not directly involved in chairing the Ghana case. Surely the CJ (and you and I) must have confidence on our judicial system and the people she (the CJ) appoints to address the case; and by the way, rather than sit 'aloof', I am sure she is involved in overseeing the entire process as is her responsibility.
6. Surely you do not want us to believe that Odinga's protest and challenge in the Kenyan Supreme Court was going to end in a reversal of the results were you? I certainly didn't and I believe even his own supporters saw it as a tall order. That said, there are always 'die hard supporters' who come rain or shine, will believe that their candidate won and no matter what anyone says, they will still believe in that myth. Is it any wonder then, that following the declaration of Kenyatta as the winner on Saturday, at least FIVE (5) people have died in Kissumu (Odinga's stronghold) as a result of violence? This is in spite of his own admission that he respects the ruling of the SC and that his supporters should accept defeat (despite his own continued protestation at what he regards as unfair).
7. It is wholly wrong of you to try to blame the NDC and the Supreme Court (including the Chief Justice) for the delays in court when in fact, the two parties NDC and NPP cannot even agree the issues to be included in the determination of the case!!! Only today Tuesday, the SC is sitting to help the two parties narrow things down so that the case proper can begin.
8. Quite apart from the fact that we have little to learn from Kenya, they have rather a lot to learn from Ghana. The Kenyan Attorney-General can 'boast' all he wants about they being more speedier than Ghana. The fact is, the length, content and details of their petition would probably have taken ONE WEEK (and not 2 weeks) to determine in Ghana. Furthermore we do not even know what is in the pipeline right now in Kenya and it would interest you to know that quite a number of organisations have issued "Travel Alert Warnings" to their people travelling to Kenya, given the current political atmosphere.
Any how, it is disingenuous of you to seek to blame one side for the current delays in finding a resolution to the challenge of the outcome of the December polls in Ghana. If anything, both sides have engaged in these 'delay tactics' although in my opinion, their posturing does no one any good and may in fact be costing the nation dear. Do I want to see a resolution to the case, you bet I do. Does any party NDC or NPP come out of this with glowing colours, hell, no!! However at the end opf the day, we should be objective in finding and apportioning blame for any delays, and we should also be seeking an honest, credible and just resolution to this case in the interests of all, and especially the electorate who spent many hours in the sun to cast their votes, and who therefore deserve their votes to be properly validated and unless they are declared as "SPOILT", counted and included in the results.
If you agree that this should be the case, then you should pray and hope that all sides will 'play ball' for the sake of our nation and its people. Stop being biased and playing the "blame Game" because it is counter-productive!!

Kenya's Elections was a sham, and the Supreme court just approved a rigged Election despite widespread evidence from hacking the electoral system. Video evidence that showed discrepancies in results announced live on Tv and what the true results were. Results were certified despite many legal electoral forms missing.
We are now stuck with two ICC criminals. Its crazy to thing how this will affect us and our Economy, because the Western folks are too powerful and could mess with our economy the way they did to Zimbabwe.
I also totally don't like the ICC the way it targets Africans mostly yet western Criminals are given a pass.
The crazy part is most of the folks in the current Supreme Court were vetted and are actually very independent minded, and many times fair.
I have a feeling some western power messed with the result, or Kenyatta's side might have also bribed them big.
Guys were expecting a rerun because of the widespread discrepancies. Ok on the other had since we had a coalition Govt i think some western powers pushed them to make a quick decision to prevent a hang dispute if we had a re run again.
Kenya is strategic in the East and im sure there was alot of pressure from the west, and even our African neighbors because they use our port of Mombasa to import their vital goods.

You can't call folks criminals yet the case is yet to be heard and your "criminals" have yet to be convicted.I saw the kenyan court process and and your video evidence of one station was not enough to overcome an 800k vote gap.You can't partake in "sham elections",see nothing wrong only to complain after a loss.Your initial silence proves you had faith in the process and its the "loss"that made you call it sham elections.Sore losers believe unless you win then the whole process was a sham.
You say some western powers messed with the result yet its the same powers openly opposed to dealing with an ICC indictee. How could they work against their own interests?
Just accept you lost and stop manufacturing disjointed evidence that doesn't make sense.

Ghana became the first country south of the sahara to gain political independence from the colonialists in 1957. There was so much hope for this new independent black nation but we became a huge disappointment to ourselves and our admirers several years ago when our bubble burst. The Black Star of Africa simply refused to shine and illuminate the entire continent. Many countries have since overtaken us in our slow march towards economic emancipation because we took our eyes off the ball and engaged ourselves in frivolities and trivialities and often shot ourselves in the feet.
In the field of education we started off glamorously but fizzled out years later, becoming just a paper tiger. The same can be said of our football and sports in general.
We seem to love the headlines for always being the pacesetters in many fields of human endeavor but that is all we have the strength and enthusiasm for. It's no surprise that we've been overtaken by Kenya in the race to resolve election disputes . We are always the starters who are never able to finish the race. Unless we change our present attitudes we'll continue to be the first who always become the last.
