  But the Kpandu township itself hasn't seen so much progress all these years. The town centre looks decrepit. Of course, the private houses that are being built are on the outskirts but the town proper doesn't look like a real town. The hospital too now looks hopeless and more of a death trap. Yet Kpandu has for long had some fine educational institutions that turned out many now successful people.
  
  Progress must be driven by the people themselves. And the people must be united in this common search.

  With a visionary leader Kpando can rise again. Togbe Afede is doing a marvelous job for HO and that city is on the progress. Kpando can do the same.

  I am married to a native of Kpando, and we reside in Belgium with our two children. As it happens, we visit Kpando regularly and since our first visit I have lost my heart there. I feel sorry for the Ghanaians who have turned away from rural Ghana and think Accra is the place to be. No, Kpando is our second home now. Since our first visit with our children, 14 years ago, we have seen a lot of improvements. Furthermore Kpando has attracted a lot of tourists, students and volunteers who have been a part of the changes. (for example educational projects,...)

  Ho is an example to follow, its developing so fast, thanks to Togbe Afede's genius. There is so much potential in the VR and there are so many Ewes making in other places.
  
  The whole Juju thing is not even there like it used to be. The VR is just a nice place to be naturally.

  I cry anytime i visit Kpando,why?because the town has not seen any development since the late 1970's.The infrastructure is still the same,the road from Have to kpando grows leaner each passing day ,its now difficult for two vehicles to by pass each other on that road.Very old vehicles ply Kpando Accra or any other place .No metro mass service fropm Accra to Kpando .Torkor is now a shadow of itself ,everything has deteriorated,there is still an Agip fuel station in Kpando.No fuel station has seen any face lift in the town.When would somebody take the bull by the horns and deal with this chieftaincy issue.I think if they contenders cannot agree a prominent person in the town should be made chief so the cycle is broken for once.

  Kpando has always had a paramount chief since 1806 till date. The royal clan from which the paramount chief of Kpando is selected is The Bisiaku Clan. The people from the Besiaku clan are the descendants of Torgbui Dra( a great warrior who fought and defended the people of Kpando during war). Torgbui Dra was subsequently installed by Kpando Kpekpe Etor as the chief of Kpando in 1806. Torgbui Dra prior to his death instructed that his children should succeed him. However, there are these agents of jezebel in the persons of Torgbui Afendza(known in private life as Mr. Kondo) and a section of Abada family that have suddenly stood against the royal clan. Their desire is to deny Kpando of any form of progress. The truth of the matter is that there is nothing that anybody can do to change the history of Kpando or what our forefathers have laid down for us. Long live Kpando, long live Okpekpewuokpe!
