  There are so many gaps in his so-called bio. He finished university in his mid-20s. What was he doing after high school? No wonder this guy can't open his mouth without talking nonsense!

  Free education or not? Most Ghanaian elite 45years+ old received free educatiion up to tertiary level. That meant to a large extent FREE TUITION. I don't believe lawmakers will agree to enact a law that will compell them to send their children to CYTO. You would be living in a different world if you thought so. Remember Ghana is not a Socialist or a Communist country, even they have private schools. Most of the private schools are owned by chronies of the lawmakers, and they will tell you the private entrepreneurs are bridging the gap. If we paid our teachers and other workers well, our education would be as enviable as the days of old. We need to revert to GCE O and A level so our children can spend 3 years at the university for most courses. Besides, when they go abroad they can enter university straight away instead of doing a prelim year. My pick from the NPP flagbearer's free education campaign slogan stemed from the fact that the cost of govt corruption could pay for every child's education. That means nearly everyone will have a share of the National cake. There is definately an unfair distribution of the National cake and people from "hinterlands" or less developed areas who often lay the golden eggs, miss out a lot.

  Great article worth debating. The Ghanaian education system needs a complete overhaul if we are to compete on the international stage.I wouldn't advocate for free education but rather a hybrid system where students and parents pay their fair share of the cost of education while government provides the needed infrastructure and teacher training. Government funding (ie tax payers money) should be invested in human resource development which starts from the elementary school, not necessarily at the college level. We can realize a sea change in the development of our natural resources only when we become sophisticated enough to take advantage of the natural resources we have. The Western countries have done it and some emerging economies are doing it. We have a challenge with regard to our educational system and I think the author has raised very critical issues that need to be debated and not treated lightly.
  Nelson Mandela put's it right: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Yes we can, but "It takes a Village" to lead this effort. Call your parliamentarians/lawmakers, party honchos and all who matter to discuss and find solutions for a better educational system for our motherland. Peace.

ALSO IN OUR FORM ONE AND FORM TWO WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM NO PERMANANT TEACHER AND I WONDERED HOW WE WERE PROMOTED TO THE NEXT CLASSES, AND AS I WAS SAYING WE WERE LUCKY TO HAD A TEACHER WHO TRIED ALL HE COULD TO PREPARED US FOR OUR FINAL YEAR WHICH WAS, HE HANDLE US FROM FORM THREE TO FORM FOUR AND THAT WAS WHY WE WERE ABLE TO WRITE OUR FINAL EXAMS AND PASS WITH 100%.

  I do agree, as an individual,God bless u, they should let their children go to as i called it syto so they can also feel the wahala, that will make them to solve our educational problems as quick as possible.
