  Bigbrosam, you have made a valid point. However, where I beg to differ is for reasons which are technical (as happened in most polling stations) i.e. falling batteries or faulty machines, how do you justify the voter is unidentified or not Ghanaian if they have a valid voter's ID? Can you imagine yourself having been in a queue for so long to do what you are mandated to do constitutionally and to have this misfortune if they can identify you by other means? Let us accept this was the first time this biometric verification was being used and that the EC did not put in place measures to forestall such situations. But do we claim fraud here or find ways to improve the system next time? Let's all remove our political colorations and be reasonable with this matter. And finally, is the Biometric verification the only means of verifying one's identity as a Ghanaian?

  THE WHOLE ISSUE HAS TO DO WITH CREDIBILITY PROBLEMS. IF THE POLITICAL PARTIES WERE NOT SUSPICIOUS OF ONE ANOTHER THIS BRUHAHA ABOUT THE BIOMETRIC VERIFICATION WOULDN'T ARISE AT ALL.. BY THE WAY, I SIDE WITH THE PETITIONERS FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT THE EC HAD NULLIFIED RESULTS IN SOME POLLING STATIONS USING REGULATION 30(2) OF C.I. 75. ALSO, WE SHOULD BE MINDFUL OF THE FACT THAT THESE REGULATIONS ARE THE PRODUCTS OF THE CONSTITUTION. FOR ME THE ARGUMENT THAT REGULATION 30(2) CONTRAVENES THE 1992 IS FLAWED AND WITHOUT MERIT. EXCUSE ME TO USE ISLAMIC RELIGION TO BUTTRESS MY POINT.
  IN THE QUR-AN, WE ARE TOLD ABOUT THE 5 COMPULSORY DAILY PRAYERS. THE DETAILS AS TO HOW TO GO ABOUT THE PRAYERS ONLY EMERGE IN OTHER ISLAMIC SCRIPTURES. BUT WE ALL KNOW AS A MATTER OF FACT THAT THE WHOLLY QUR-AN IS THE SUPREME LAW OF ALL MUSLIMS. IN SHORT, THE PRIMARY RIGHT TO VOTE GOES WITH RESPONSIBILITIES. OTHERWISE WE DON'T EVEN NEED VALID VOTER ID CARDS BEFORE WE CAN VOTE. AS A LAYMAN, THIS IS MY POINT OF VIEW.

  the fact that the ci75 does not give any remedy if one votes without bi metric verification it would be difficult to annul these. it against the faundamental human rights as enshrined in our contstitution.

  I went through the biometrics and voted on the 7th and on the 8th, my twin brother who was in the country from Germany for holidays but did not have his name on the voter register, took advantage of the silly pronouncement of the president, and manage to vote with my picture ID. The truth is that myself and my twin brother use to take turns traveling abroad with one passport until sometime after the 9/11 attack in the USA that mandate visitor to be finger printed. In fact, all that i'm trying to say is that the elections results could not be fair and genuine with the NVNV rule clearly violated. I feel guilty telling the truth but hey, we manage to cheat the system
