  Yes GII is trying to protect public purse and David is not against that. It is the way and manager go about the issues. You might say it does not matter as long as desire effect is achieved. But that is not right. There should be fairness in everything one does. And GII is not just an ordinary institution and people working there are not ordinary people. Therefore some serious efforts must put into whatever it puts out into public domain. Otherwise no one will take them serious. That is the essence of the article

  David is right. Exposing corruption by GII is goog but it should be done with facts and evidence. Mind You GII is an institution not a press group.

For example, one must declare his or her assets before contesting for parliament. The declaration should be public. By the time M. Thatcher took over as PM of the UK she was worth half million UK pounds! What was John Agyekum Kufour worth 7 January 2001 or John Dramani Mahama on 7 January 2013? Well done Deputy.

  The internet and Ghanaweb in particular is fraught with unsubstantiated crap that its not even worth one's time to read anything printed anymore.Granted that,as a nation, we've come a long way from the days of the "mighty Osagyefo" when one dare not say much less print anything inimical about government without invoking it's wrath.
  However,it appears the frequencies of just printing any accusation for printing sake is becoming pervasive in the media.One solution would be to turn on the fangs of the law on those "paid" culprits who cherry pick what to expose without performing the necessary due diligence.Hit them where it'll hurt....their pockets.Once we haul these so called mushroomed NGOs to court to substantiate their "charges",they'll be very careful in what they spew out recklessly for our consumption.

  Without institutions like GII, Ghana is doomed. Unlike the US, where I live, do you know how difficult is it to obtain basic information from government institutions in Ghana? How long has it taken SADA to respond to the Akomfe and the tree planting deals? SADA and Agambire can put this issue to rest if they come out and tell the public what they have done with the money. GII is on the right track given the environment it is operating.

  I think David is going overboard with his criticism of GII and is also exposing himself as a biased political person. GII has not got the means to investigate some of these issues and moreover the Freedom of Information Bill ...

  I think David is going overboard with his criticism of GII and is also exposing himself as a biased political person. GII has not got the means to investigate some of these issues and moreover the Freedom of Information Bill has still not been passed. The only way GII can pursue some of these issues is to call on the appropriate bodies to investigate and that is exactly what they have done. Mr Azim did not pass judgement on SADA, he only asked that the issue be investigated by CHIRAJ. David you must be the only person who cannot see that there is something amiss in the whole SADA saga.

  The essence of David's article is that GII in calling appropriate bodies to investigate corruption in government must be prepared to do its home work and not rely on media and people's speculations or suspicions. Also GII cannot accuse of govrnment or officialdom interference in any alledged corruption without any evidence of its own and expect to be taken serious. Yes GII can blow the whistle but it should be prepared to justify its whistle blowing.
