I write about ethnocentrism or "tribalism." I have said I respect Okoampa for his boldness. This said, I don't think that we have to argue that some people don't belong to Ghana or are not Ghanaians. Ghanaian identity in the postcolonial state is a fait accompli. To problematize and release the postcolony of Ghana from the soiled fingers of tribalist and nepotistic borkerage of the national cake, we must call for integration and inclusion. Then again, Mahama has taken the wind from Ewe hegemony foisted on clueless Mills. When do we get to call you DOKITA Pryce. Be well!

Ewes mostly voted for J.B Danquah at that time and not Nkrumah. In addition, the composition of the Ghana army in the past resulted in mostly Ewe , Ga,and Fanti officers. Until Rawlings, coups were led by officers. Go to Ghana and you will find out that outside the limits of your Nassau Community college, all Ghanaian tribes are inter- marrying out of love. Friendships are made among all tribes. Finally, no one is above the law in Ghana. The NPP accused the VP. Amissah Arthur of not having an MS Degree in Economics , he produced it and that ended the matter. The German Education minister (or so) had to resign as her Doctoral thesis was found to contain plagiarized material. Nana Agyeman Rawlings was the first person to my knowledge who raised the topic regarding Akufo -Addo's law qualifications. People like you jumped on her and attributed her claim to a political malice. If you ask all Ghanaian lawyers today whether they believe Akufo Ado is a lawyer, my guess would be a 99% yes answer. This is so because they know he has been practising law, and moreover he owns a law firm and was a former attorney general. That does not rule out his use of false documents and other connections to end up in those positions. Some years ago, a Ghanaian was arrested in the US naval hospital in Bethesda MD. He was practicing as an anesthesiologist until the day of his arrest. It turned out that he gained his experience as a surgical nurse in Kibi hospital in Ghana. Everybody called him Doctor and no one knew he did no set foot in Medical school. There are all kinds of crooks and quacks parading themselves in Ghana even in government with no certificates. What's preventing Nana from clarifying the situation for us? Once you are seeking public office, your privacy is out of the window. Foes and curious people would want to know everything about you in order to make a sound decision regarding the public office you are seeking.

I have met northerner who claim that they have been told that Ashantis used them as slaves to work on their farm lands and in wars. All these things are false. Ewes and Northerners traveled to the Akan areas in such of jobs and settlement and we dont supposed the Akans should have built offices and employed them in. They were farmers and the only job they could give to others were farm jobs. Many Ghanaians worked on tomato farms in Italy.

The tribal politics in Ghana today was a creation of Rawlings, and the Ewe politicians led by Kofi Awunor. It is 100% true unless you don't want to face it. I don't know how much older and knowledgeable Mr. Pryce is but he may know this fact. Akans and particularly Ashantis were attacked out of hatred, their businesses destroyed. Akans easily forgive and move on to rebuild......to me Ghana is even better today. Everyone with Akan name is perceived to be ASHANTI and hated for no reason beside political manipulation. The country since Rawlings era to today employs more Ewes and other tribes than Ashantis. Ashanti never fought for anything and yet they are still hated. Other tribes are manipulated to hate ashantis. Of course when Nkrumah asked the Ewes to join Ghana in a referendum he failed to ask Ghanaians if they will accept the Ewes.

I have so much respect for grey hair; by God's grace, Professor Okoampa has it in abundance. In fact, in traditional folklore, it is held that grey hair signifies wisdom.

As to whether Dr. Danquah indeed 'advised' Dr. Nkrumah against the plebiscite is another matter of intense concern.

That is why Dr. might be an authority on this subject because as you know MOST Ewes are not as welcoming and open minded as other tribes in Ghana.

I am really disappointed because I never thought I would see a day like this in Ghana where my age group will be so divided along tribal lines. I thought it was something that belonged to my father’s age.

I have financed a kid(you see I did not mention the tribe?) from secondary school to university because tribe never crossed my mind. I got the shock of my life with this anti Akan mainly anti-Ashanti now anti-Akyem sentiments from most Ewes when K4 become the president.

The good people of Ewe should rise and help put an end to this hatred. Maybe I am wrong and one sided but help me understand why this divide. What have the Ashantis done to the Ewes? If anything thing at all some of the northern tribes and other Akan tribes should be anti-Ashanti mainly due to the many wars the Ashantis brought to their door steps ie many centuries ago. Even those tribes have moved on so what is with the many Ewes?

As it was, Danquah's strongest supporters (outside his Akyem enclave and Ashanti strongholds) in his unsuccessful presidential bids were these same Togoland Ewes, not the "Anlo-Ewes"!!! Kpegah's parents in Hohoe may certainly have voted for Danquah in the early 60s. Kpegah himself, if he was of voting age, may have done so - voting like his parents, unless he had gone over to Nkrumah's side. These people were stridently anti-Nkrumah!

The Togoland Congress (Ablordee - the word means "freedom") properly saw Danquah as an ally in their struggle. After independence, they still rallied around Danquah (and Busia) in the UP which is why they voted for Danquah during his doomed presidential bids. They never said because he was Akyem they wouldn't vote for him. They voted for him even though they knew he was going to lose terribly!

Nkrumah's determination to keep the Togoland Ewes as part of Ghana was was due more to greed and geo-strategic interests than to any love he had for them.

And Okoampa, you don't really know the true nature of Kpegah's suit. It has absolutely nothing to do with Akufo-Addo's certificates or legal training. It has to do with something else which Akufo himself and other NPP gurus are all aware of and which is now making them squirm in their seats. THEY DO NOT WANT KPEGAH TO PROCEED WITH THE CASE BECAUSE THIS OTHER INFO IS BOUND TO COME OUT. It is a minor thing but it does not put Akufo in a good light and may be damaging to him.

Akadu, if you're interested in the truth, then pray that the case be heard in court and properly too. Kpegah should be allowed to air his grievances against Akufo-Addo in an open court so that Akufo-Addo will also publicly defend himself as he has the right to and is fully capable of doing. This matter should not be settled outside court (as some people are currently trying hard to bring about) and in court it should not stand or fall on legal technicalities but on the truth. This is what all well meaning Ghananians (those not swayed by tribal or party affiliations) should call for.

Kpegah and Akufo-Addo are both public figures and we should hold our public officers to account when they falter - whether they are former Justices of the Supreme Court or former Presidential candidates or Foreign Ministers, Ewes or Akans or Gonjas.

Kpegah said that he is worried if NDC lose power and anyone with commonsense can draw some links for what he Kpegah is doing against Nana.

Some Ewes love to depend solely on the government while others love to go solo and explore to tap into the unknown and when these people become successful, they draw endless hatred from those who depends on the government for anything. That is the path Kpegah is treading. Look at people like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckeberg. They left college and embark on going deep into the unknown. What is their reward? Their colleagues will ask what went wrong? They have all the degrees yet, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are ahead of them in anything.

Kpegah and his folks are such prime example. This man had worked all his life yet, still occupying government bungalow with all the monies he made. This man has some axe to grind and only death will put a stop to his hatred.

If his case is thrown out of court, he will go to the Hague to seek redress. Just mark my words.

Where are the duplicate copies of Nana Akufo Addo's law certificates? Any photos of admission of Nana Akufo Addo's in all the institutions he studied law? Is there any truth to the fact that when Nana Akufo Addo was a "practising lawyer" and Attorney General, all the written work were done for him by a legal luminary living in The States?

You see, Justice Kpegah just cannot besmirch the intergrity of Nana Akufo Addo. However, the issue is gaining popularity and has come under public scrutiny due to SO MANY QUESTIONS surrounding THE MISSING GAPS. Ghanaians expect that someone would come out to say NANA AKUFO ADDO WAS MY LAW SCHOOL CLASSMATE. Ghananians expect that someone would come out to trumpet to them that "YES, ON THAT DAY IN JULY, 1971, I WAS CALLED TO THE GHANA BAR ALONG WITH NANA AKUFO ADDO.

He must give us a break with the kind of defence he is putting up for one without a certificate. don't we have have fake doctors and pastors who could perform very well, it is until when your cup becomes full that you are known by the name/person you are. Okoampa should rather seek information from Nana and advise him to stop the disgrace which awaits him. What is Nana seeking, prez, he parents named hin Nana, so be it, and he rather pursues that way of kingship rather than prez.
