The defence was worst than any strainer. The whole team was a mess. I think the technical team should be dismissed before the next match

I am not a fan of so many words but I decided to read this article for a change.Correctly put MRI has ensured players age are as close to truthfulness as possible especially considering how countries like Ghana and Nigeria have in the past cheated their way to victory at underage competitions.My concern is if we all agree that the countries this time have presented 'correct' age,so why is Ghana so disadvantaged to lose by such a margin or are the Nigerian lads just too good?I will hold my peace until the other 2 games are played then I'll read my verdict.

I've often stated on this very forum that, the fall of soccer in Ghana happened as a result of the introduction of the aged cartegory national teams and it dates back to 1987 when we started preparing for Scotland 1989. It took a giant leap in 1991 after we won the U-17 trophy for the first time and players like Odartey Lamptey, Yaw Preko, Gargo, Isaac Asare and co were promoted to the B/Stars. Then the old players started fading out and Ghana's senior national team started falling short of very tall and energetic players with dwarfish players taking their place. My younger brother's seniors at Chemu secondary school Tema were chosen in the next batch of Starlets 1993, when they were past age 17. Players I knew personally and were older than me were shockingly called to play as Starlets. About half of the team USA that featured in the U-17 in Ecuador played till after the 2010 senior world cup while Emmanuel Addo, Benard Dong Bortey, Razak Pinpong to mention but a few were conspiciously missing. It goes on and on just bços the Blackman in general wants to achieve success at all cost forgeting that you reap what you sow. As at now, a quater final position has been the last stop of "Mr.Koo darkie" in the senior world cup tournament but we've won worlds U-23, U-20 and U-17 with ease right? Pity

Having said this, the technical team has its work cut out in the other two group matches. Maybe the players aren't just good enough to represent Ghana or it was one of those days when our defenders didn't enjoy a good night's sleep..

The eaglets have been together for @least 2years, a few of them play for non-league amateur sides and the others don't even have clubs. Pure talent. The starlets should be groomed for u20 level. Even if they do make it to the world cup, yesterdays result will look like childs play.

What about the wealth of talent in the diaspora? Thanks to dual citizenship there are a lot of talented boys who are having the best training in colts teams all over England . These boys aren't likely to all make the cut into the English leagues, and most of them could be of great use to their preferred nation of choice, Ghana. One such example of such fine young talent is Welbeck who now plays for Man Utd and England. Imagine how many more Ghanaian kids lose out and hang up their boots......

The point is that the Nigerian boys are very good and that explains the white-washing of the Starlets. The Eaglets have played a total of 28 games at a stretch without losing any. They are the most likely champions in the CAF competition. However, l see the Starlets making the last four for the UAE FIFA competition later in the year.

The truth is that the eaglets have been together for long and the FA has pumped in so much money to support their trainings and tours. Also, dont forget that the Eagles just won the afcon cup and the eaglets would want to win this U-17 Championship so that they could meet wit Adenuga, Dangote, Elumeleu etc who are likely to reward them abundantly. Furthermore, our U-17 Team is seen as future Eagles since they play so well. Having said that, i do not think the Eaglest will win the competeion because i know they will soon become complacent. I want both the Starlets and the Eaglets to qualify for the world cup as the healthy rivalry between the 2 Countries will ensure west Africa gets to at least the semi-fina stage of the world cup.
