RATHER,TELL THOSE LIARS,CHARLATANS,THIEVES, PRETENDERS ETC.CALLING THEMSELVES GOD'S PEOPLE TO LIVE TRUE CHRISTLIKE LIVES.

  A friend from Makerere University offered to give me a ride in his car around the Centre of Kampala yesterday. I felt very much at home and a lot was very familiar to what we see in our crowded city markets in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Cape Coast etc. But a number of imposing, elegant and expensive buildings caught my eye.
  
  There was one ultramodern iconic 'glass house' in the centre called Centernary Bank. Apparently that is the HQ of the single largest domestic bank in the whole of Uganda - It is owned by the Catholic Church of Uganda and is said to have one of the lowest lending rates in the country. I was mightily impressed and was also informed that like we see in Ghana, the mission / Catholic schools and hospitals are the best in the country etc.etc. These churches actually have a presence as well as a major contribution to make.
  
  Very close to this building which is already functional in the Business District of Kampala, and not to be out done, there was another "Bank" under construction. This one is called "Church House" and is owned by the "Ugandan Church" i.e. Anglican church of Uganda!! I asked how they get their money and my good friend said - they are very much into investments and "even the government cannot compete with them".
  
  This is very interesting and what one would like to know is what types of partenrships exist between the government and the churches which are so engaged in business and what the tax regime is and how it affects them.
  
  Any way, the lesson here is: How are our churches in Ghana doing? what about other religious bodies e.g. Muslim Council? In Uganda, there is another bank - the King Fahd Building owned by the Muslim council and a major source of funding for their schools and other projects.
  
  Traditionally the "old churches" have done a lot in Ghana and you can name many "missionary schools" which to this day have produced a sinficant number of talents up and down the country. Their only competition are he 1960s schools build under the Osagyfo Kwame Nkrumah's government.
  
  What are our "modern churches" doing? How well are they working with ALL sides of government / political thinking? Is it OK for them to 'boast' of what little they have on offer as some of them are wont to do? Is the Ugandan model one to look at? and are the churches there to make money and if so is it primarily for development? supported the poor and needy? improving our country? I also want to know the answers.

  In the advanced nation faith means religious institutions which is literal explanation of churches. A church according scriptures of the bible has no business in government, except to guide for fair assessments of punishment against God's recommendable for another human to met out to the other.
  The main purpose of a church ministries is to put the voices of the scriptures into hearts of the individuals or citizens. This what the apostles were doing.
  
  Formal education comes from government and Kwame Nkrumah's government showed us the way in our own way in Ghana. He used various institutions like young pioneers to do that. Present government can do the same through college graduates in the rural areas to educate them if properly plan, say two years after graduation. Government should build accomodations to foster such programms.
