The so called George Bush Highway also known as N1 was Nkrumah’s baby. I have replaced this acronym with NKRUMAH NUMBER ONE ROAD. Could anyone of you believe that this great outer circle road was a continuation of the Tema motorway and part of the seven years development plan to join the Winneba – Cape Coast road which Nkrumah built to replace the old Winneba road?
Had the nation wreckers left Nkrumah alone to complete the SYDP 1965 -1972; Ghana would have been a different place by now. Bui dam was in the pieline and would have been completed already in 1971. The nearly completed Gold refinery would have taken off the ground. The Tema Silos would be functioning and Ghana would have obtained fair price for her cash crops back then. The rubber plantation near Tarkwa would have been supplying locally made car tires. The grains silo in Accra would also be operating to store bumper harvest so that in lean harvest times there will be enough food for everyone. The Korle Lagoon would was being dredged for boat sailing and recreational grounds. The pre-fabricated housing project would have made accommodation problem a thing of the past. Nkrumah the mastermind had agrand idea for Ghana, Africa and the world as a whole.
The 1966 coup was a big blow and detrimental to the economic and industrial development of Ghana. None the less we still face forward. The world will still be talking about Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in thousands of years to come whilst his antagonist fizzle out in oblivion. Nkrumah never dies.

Assisgning names to permanent landmarks in Ghana serves as a reminder to generations who these people are and what they did for the country.
Do you think, a highway could be named after Kofi Annan, for instance?
And by the way, that highway was not constructed by funds from Bush's personal account like the way some people think.

Secondly any African who can think that colonialists would freely leave as much as even GHC10.00 for any African is completely out of his mind. Any such African has obviously not recovered from what Bob Marley refers to as mental slavery.
Thirdly, Kwame Nkrumah did not loan any money to Guinea. He gave it to our brothers and sisters in Guinea when they were in dire need. At least he did it openly and proudly as an African. Go to Obuasi one of the richest Gold mines in the world where Europeans have been mining gold for over 100 years and tell me if we have not been cheated from the massive revenue benefits of our gold for all those years. Today we only get 12% from the revenues of our own oil and you have never complained but you complain when an African gives something to another African in need. On the subject of GWB highway, can honestly tell us which world leader either from west or east has committed his country's money into such projects in Africa and for that matter Ghana .

This is the real problem that slavery and colonialism inflicted on many of our people. Their minds have become so genetically distorted and warped that they cant imagine that anybody would want to stand up to the evil that their slave masters have caused to them and continue to cause to the world in general. They have lost all their sense of integrity as well as their racial and personal pride to the extent that nothing makes sense in this world unless their slave masters say it does.
It is a dangerous mental (bi-polar) disease that is being promoted and spread around by the likes of Nana Akomea, Otchere Darko and other functionaries of the NPP.
It is a virus for which we must find the right antidote to cure before we find ourselves doomed and without any identity nor future as has happened to the native American Indians, the Australian Aborigenes and what almost happened to the Black Zimbabweans.
In the same way that some of our people led the white man to catch some of their own brothers as slaves and also led the whiteman to overthrow the African of the millenium, today they have again stolen Kwame Nkrumahs plans for the West African Highway and put the name of one of the most evil whitemen of our age on it.

I have an opinion and I wrote an opinion article. I am not surprised that so many people choose to insult instead of making an intellectual argument for their points of view. Before I wrote my first article on Ghanaweb, I decided that I should be prepared for sharp tongues if I am going to put myself out so all the insults just bounce off me. Actually I find some of them amusing.
I have been an astute political watcher and I continue to believe that George Bush and Co were getting ready for a full frontal assault on Black America to reverse all the gains that the civil rights fights. In order not to be called racists, they were going to give money to Africa to fight aids. That made for our gains that we are honouring him for. It takes short sighted people to fall for this modus operandi of cunning people and it seems like so many of us are.
So far the only argument that I have seen is that George Bush paid for the Highway. Why not call it American Highway then. It was money from American people. China is building so many things in Ghana and Africa. Are we going to have a continent that has everything named after Chinese people? I can see it now, Jin Chang Sports Stadium in Cape Coast.
The way we operate, if Hitler had built anything in Ghana, we would have Hitler this and Hitler that and America’s big boots would be stumping on our necks.
Finally, it seems to me that most of the reaction I am seeing are to protect a party or a President who made the decision rather than see the Historical value and how this plays in our history years from now.

Normally, when a nation go for a loan from another country for a specific project, there are some stringes attach. Sometimes, you must buy most of the materials from them, the Creditor Country may come with an architectural design and above all you will use their expertise (manpower) to execute the project. At the end of the project, a big chunk of the loan stays in the Creditor Country with little spend on local contractors.
I will advise you to research about Adolf Hitler before you make comparison of him to any leaving being now or dead. E&OE.

By the way, you must learn that had it not American backing of Mr. Kofi Annan, he would not have attained the Secretary General Position. If Mr. Kofi Annan was a man of himself and poised to be seen that way at the on set of the Iraq war, he could have forcefully voiced his opposition and resigned honourably as the UN Secretary General. But he chose to stay on. Who knows why? Left to Mr Annan alone.

Western imperialist nations and leaders felt that Kofi Annan was just the right kind of stooge with whom they could do many things including the invasion of Iraq without any problem. Kofi Annan has a history of anti African nationalist sentiments including being a vehement hater of the African of the millennium, Dr Kwame Nkrumah. To prove his extreme anti-African personal posture, he even married a white woman to boot.
To make this contribution brief, the long and short of it all is that Kofi Annan, as Secretary General of the UN, has not been of much benefit to Africa and to a larger extent, to the world in general. He may probably go down in history as one of the worse Secretary Generals in UN history on account of how he was imposed on that world body and the sordid deeds that took place under his watch by his slave masters.
It is a pity, but when Africans in particular refuse to see the need to exorcise themselves from the evil brainwashing that has been pumped into all of us for several centuries, they will end up, like all the other nonentities like Busia, Danquah, Kufuor, Afrifa, Kotoka and many others at all levels in and around Africa, in the trash can of history.
