"Can we project what is likely to happen to this country’s ethnic cohesion if say the Supreme Court decides the current Northern President should be replaced by an Akan President?" What will happen? You tell us what is on your mind, you foolish Kokrobite boy. What happened when the Togolese Trokosi Molato topple a Northern president Limann and managed to rule for near twenty years? Why didn't you write this nonsense when Afari_gyan declared the results of some pooling stations void for the same reason that the NPP is in court? Ghana is a nation of laws and when the supreme court decides we must all abide. You don't deserve to write articles here.

pepeni can not be trusted period , in this world today when Muslims and their undercover agents disguised as Christians have the agenda to destroy all virtues and values we uphold we must be vigilant and not be deceived. Boston paid the price already and here in Ghana we see the inflation of northerners across all parties following the instructions of their imams and religious leaders to seize control of the country to undermine and destroy the Akans, for which pepeni found allies with ewes and gas who have the same agenda and motives. look at akuffo addo the bofrot of a fool who took as his vice bawumia who could even bring him a single vote from the north and even whose mother campaigned against him . see general mosquito the court jester of a goat serving this regime that will annihilate his own people one day. these are serious times for those who can look at the ugly truth in the face and tell these devils to get lost. our people get poorer by the day despite the wealth we sit on , no water and electricity , every week one shortage or another of basic goods and services yet their propaganda machinery tell us all is well and normal . every office and institution of govt is in the vice grip of corruption as they make sure only selfish greedy bastards control them, no jobs or development as kotoka and rawlings the ewes saw to that now pepeni will finish the job of putting the final nails in the coffin of the Akans but we have the medicine for him. we shall most surely be free sooner or later from this devil, long live the republic of Akan

Mr. Henry Kpakpo Allotey,
Not quite good food for thought, we dare say!
For one, you seem to have no respect or confidence in that Court, their leadership, or the law of evidence.
Looks like it is you who seems to have preconceived notions of what is fair or not fair, dangerous, or not dangerous.
You seem to be arguing that "with the support of his party," Nana Addo's "petition" in a Court of Law in Ghana is "fraudulent" at best, and dangerous for Ghana's nascent democracy. Why? Because it is based on "tribalism," you are telling us.
Where is your evidence?
In our opinion, it may be a misguided move that the voters of Ghana must evaluate.
Looks like this political move is a simple case of judgement that may or may not brand Nana Addo and his supporters as unwise and therefore under-serving of future electoral opportunities.
But a thoughtful and well-considered landmark ruling will usher well for Ghana, you must agree.
On another level, you probably are in no position to confidently predict Nana Addo will even be selected by his party the next time around.
Can you?
Or that the Supreme Court will simply decide on his behalf without due regard to the law of evidence!
Do you?
ITEM: Nana Addo's move does not rise to a clarion call for naked, "tribalistic" aggression, one way or the other. On the contrary. It shows Ghana's Courts are crucial in Ghana political development, that all the people must recognize that fact and encourage ""talking" in court.
Yes, "talking in court" is not "tribalisitic".

Looking at the electoral figures, it appears claims of ethnic voting in Ghana are overstated. Nearly in all the regions, the NDC and NPP obtain significant votes, sometimes almost neck to neck. In the NPP stronghold of Ashanti, the NDC still manages to garner significant votes. It's only in the Volta Region that the balance is overwhelmingly tilted to NDC. Even there, I'm sure with time our brothers and sisters from the Volta Region will do as those in the Ashanti Region have done: embrace political parties based on what they can offer in terms of development rather than on ethnic affiliations. I don't believe in tribal politics, but this is a very sad commentary on the voting behaviour of the Volta Region.

Are you saying that Akuffo Addo should have in the interest of peace let sleeping dogs lie even if Mahama got more fingers than he won votes? Ridiculous ! Nothing in our system of things is perfect and won't ever be until "thy kingdom come" but shouldn't we be seeking to improve upon our performances? Should imperfection stand in the way of self improvement ?
Practice they say makes perfect but whoever said perfection happens in a sudden flight? It takes perseverance. It takes also constant evaluation and constant improvement to inch closer to perfection. We cannot improve on previous standards if we're unaware of what we lack or what we're doing wrong.
We should be applauding Nana Akuffo Addo for taking this landmark case to the Supreme Court. He did that because he has confidence in the integrity and credibility of the court and trusts they are up to the task of determining who actually won the election. He also loves his country and would rather go to the SC to have it in one piece than to take to the streets, highways, forests and mountains and see it in pieces. What would you be saying about Nana today if he had rather chosen to take his supporters on the rampage?
Are you not implying that Mahama and the NDC will never accept the verdict should the SC rule against them?
We cannot describe our government as a democracy if the sitting president and his party will not accept the ruling of the nation's Supreme Court. Akuffo Addo has already stated that win or lose he will accept the ruling of the SC. If President Mahama will not accept the ruling of the SC then he does not even deserve to be our President in the first place.
Win or lose the petition it's a win win for Nana Akuffo Addo because I'm confident the SC will make recommendations to improve the operations of the electoral commission and the voting system. Or have you had the premonition that Mahama is going to lose and the shame will be too much to bear to the extent he and the NDC will choose to disrespect the SC and its ruling?Or are you in possession of a piece of info that's highly confidential? That'd be interesting indeed. When this nation burns it'd not burn because Akuffo Addo chose to go to the SC but because the NDC refused to abide by the ruling of the highest court of the land.

The majority of Ghanaians did not vote for John Mahama. The true results prove that majority voted for Akufo Addo. That's the reason why the SC will overturn Afari Gjan's declaration. Mahama is a THIEF and he knows it.
This is also my anxiety. Only one of the SC judges comes from the North and he was the one NPP did not want on the panel.
God save this country and the SC shd not take us into tribal mayhem. They shd throw Bawumia and his ...

You are probably the most trustworthy person in Ghana. You should seek political office. I will support you.

Mahama must clear his name if he honestly believes he truly won the 2012 election. The problem is that he stole the election with Afari Djan's help. Mahama and NDC know they did not win the election.
THIS WRITE IS RATHER FANNING TRIBAL TENDENCIES. POOR ARTICLE.
THIS CASE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRIBE BUT ABOUT THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENS MUST PREVAIL.
