  Looks like it is you who seems to have preconceived notions of what is fair or not fair, dangerous, or not dangerous.
  
  You seem to be arguing that "with the support of his party," Nana Addo's "petition" in a Court of Law in Ghana is "fraudulent" at best, and dangerous for Ghana's nascent democracy. Why? Because it is based on "tribalism," you are telling us.
  
  Where is your evidence?
  
  In our opinion, it may be a misguided move that the voters of Ghana must evaluate.
  
  Looks like this political move is a simple case of judgement that may or may not brand Nana Addo and his supporters as unwise and therefore under-serving of future electoral opportunities.
  
  But a thoughtful and well-considered landmark ruling will usher well for Ghana, you must agree.
  
  On another level, you probably are in no position to confidently predict Nana Addo will even be selected by his party the next time around.

  Or that the Supreme Court will simply decide on his behalf without due regard to the law of evidence!

  ITEM: Nana Addo's move does not rise to a clarion call for naked, "tribalistic" aggression, one way or the other. On the contrary. It shows Ghana's Courts are crucial in Ghana political development, that all the people must recognize that fact and encourage ""talking" in court.

  I agree with Henry Allotey. The judges must use wisdom. Sometimes we as humans must reason and use wisdom over laws.King Solomon used WISDOM and not LAW to settle the issue between the two women and the baby.

  Looking at the electoral figures, it appears claims of ethnic voting in Ghana are overstated. Nearly in all the regions, the NDC and NPP obtain significant votes, sometimes almost neck to neck. In the NPP stronghold of Ashanti, the NDC still manages to garner significant votes. It's only in the Volta Region that the balance is overwhelmingly tilted to NDC. Even there, I'm sure with time our brothers and sisters from the Volta Region will do as those in the Ashanti Region have done: embrace political parties based on what they can offer in terms of development rather than on ethnic affiliations. I don't believe in tribal politics, but this is a very sad commentary on the voting behaviour of the Volta Region.

Nothing in our system of things is perfect and won't ever be until "thy kingdom come" but shouldn't we be seeking to improve upon our performances? Should imperfection stand in the way of self improvement ?
  Practice they say makes perfect but whoever said perfection happens in a sudden flight? It takes perseverance.It takes also constant evaluation and constant improvement to inch closer to perfection. We cannot improve on previous standards if we're unaware of what we lack or what we're doing wrong.
  We should be applauding Nana Akuffo Addo for taking this landmark case to the Supreme Court. He did that because he has confidence in the integrity and credibility of the court and trusts they are up to the task of determining who actually won the election. He also loves his country and would rather go to the SC to have it in one piece than to take to the streets, highways, forests and mountains and see it in pieces. What would you be saying about Nana today if he had rather chosen to take his supporters on the rampage?
  Are you not implying that Mahama and the NDC will never accept the verdict should the SC rule against them?
  We cannot describe our government as a democracy if the sitting president and his party will not accept the ruling of the nation's Supreme Court. Akuffo Addo has already stated that win or lose he will accept the ruling of the SC. If President Mahama will not accept the ruling of the SC then he does not even deserve to be our President in the first place.
  Win or lose the petition it's a win win for Nana Akuffo Addo because I'm confident the SC will make recommendations to improve the operations of the electoral commission and the voting system. Or have you had the premonition that Mahama is going to lose and the shame will be too much to bear to the extent he and the NDC will choose to disrespect the SC and its ruling?Or are you in possession of a piece of info that's highly confidential?That'd be interesting indeed. When this nation burns it'd not burn because Akuffo Addo chose to go to the SC but because the NDC refused to abide by the ruling of the highest court of the land.

  rule of law is all about the fact that nobody is above the law. therefore if any of the citizens of the country is faced with a difficulty in understanding some decisions which have been made by some state institutions, he has the right to seek clarification.. lets allow the laws of our state to function .. in order to bring peace and unity in the country.. because as far as you and i know the supreme court is the highest court of our land so having such a delicate issue pertaining to the welfare of the state we trust that they enforce justice and peace in their rulings for the betterment of the good people of Ghana and development of the state...

I'm a northerner myself, from upper west and so wouldn't be happy to see a fellow northerner use fraudulent means to occupy a position anywhere on this earth. Who told this idiot Mahama is the president for only the northerners. Is this lunatic saying that no akan voted for Mahama ? Can any northerner win the presidential election without the support of the akans. Is Asiedu Nketiah a northerner ? Fool, wise up for your analysis shows you are more ethnocentric than Nana Addo himself. We northerners are known for being honest and truthful hence the best thing is for Mahama to clear his name if indeed he won the election clean and fairly.
