Tony, the questions you posed do not arise because they have been addressed in the 1992 Constitution. The framers of the constitution envisaged the current situation in Ghana and made provision for it. That is, irrespective of a presidential result challenge, the declared president shall be sworn into office and be president until the petition is decided. All actions and omissions of the president shall be legal and constitutional and shall remain so until the constitution is amended. No one can challenge the actions in the future because the petition is upheld.

By the way, who told you US Presidents do not sign legislation passed by the legislature? If so why do US Presidents have veto powers over legislation passed by the legislature?

In the US, anything passed by congress is not a law until the government signs it. If I said the president does not sign a law or implied that the president does not sign a law, I was mistaken.

Yes. He is an elected President by the people of Ghana. Until the greed of shortie is resolved by the Supreme Court and turns out in his favour (no chance) all laws signed by President Mahama stands. If Prez Mahama loses, we should accept the verdict and respect the law of the land plus the brains of the Judges. Period. The Assembly can however repeal existing laws by majority of votes (how many?) I don't know. But let us move on!

I agree completely. In addition, the Constitution is perfectly clear. Anything done legally by the President as part of his duties remains valid even if the Court finds against him.

The presidency is a legal institution and there is an egonometrics for one to become a president. And as I write, all the necessary steps were taken to swear him in as president. I donot know your age but let me refer to the Acheapong's era where price control was at its peak. A legal proceeding could be going on in court when the price of the acticle had gone pass the selling price. Yet such cases saw their legal conclusions. I guess you are wondering whether one can plead the a law was passed by a military gov't which took power, by the berrel of the gun, and nobody voted it into power so one would not subject one's self to it. Remember that the very constitution which has given the partitioner the right to go to court was written under military dictatorship. The ball is in your court. Bye
