This is a very silly write-up. The writer clearly does not know the truth about Akufo-Addo and the rest of the matter.

1. Those people who know Akufo-Addo well and are close to him know why he left Oxford after just one year. He was not sacked from Oxford. As a young man in Europe, he was leading a very reckless life (which may include smoking marijuana). He had the means to afford that kind of life. The family back in Ghana heard of this reckless life and to prevent further disgrace to the family, the father sent someone to bring Akufo-Addo back to Ghana. So he was brought back. This story is known by people in Akufo's home town and in his age group. They even know the man who was sent to bring him back. There were other Ghanaians in Oxford at that time too and they also know of the story. If you leave Oxford under such circumstances, you cannot include it on your CV.

2. Kpegah is no longer a bona fide member of the NDC. This Kpegah case does NOT have NDC in the background. The NDC is not helping Kpegah in this case and it is wrong for the writer to say it is NDC which is doing this. Kpegah supported Nana Kondadu against Mills so the present crop of NDC rulers have blacklisted him.

3. Kpegah is full of mischief. The writer has herself mentioned some other suits Kpegah brought up in the past that didn't pass. One of them was even against NDC's own AG. So why would this writer think that Kpegah is acting on behalf of NDC?

4. "The political and professional integrity of Nana Addo is impeccably solid without blemish". Only a naive teenager would believe that. Which Ghanaian politician has not done anything fictitious? Only those that were not caught!

5. The rumours that there is something fictitious about the manner in which Akufo got called to the Ghana bar have been around in legal circles for decades. Perhaps it is not a thing that is prosecutable. It is not all offences that can stand up in court. But they are still offences nonetheless. Kpegah is stupid to have tried bring such a case to court which will be difficult to prove.

6. Within the legal community in Ghana, Akufo is not known as a specially brilliant lawyer. It takes more than passing your law exams to be a brilliant practising jurist. They are two different things. Just like not all the medical doctors who passed the same medical exams become equally good practising doctors. Akufo was not a particularly brilliant person in school. But he established a successful law firm that includes other lawyers who may be more brilliant than him.

I don't see why people continue supporting Akufo-Addo (the person) just because of political reasons. The man knows best everything about himself and he should be allowed to defend himself. Why should others try to do that for him?

First, the Ghana Law Reports tell a completely different story. Second, Nana Addo may not have bloomed in his school days. Not every great person in history did. In fact, many a great personality was reckless in their youth. But they sure sure bloomed later in life. So did Nana Addo in legal practice.

Finally, if evil propagandists keep on with malicious propaganda against Nana Addo, those who admire the man or who believe in fairness shall not also fail to stand up for him. Why are you bothered by people defending Nana Addo, and not by those inventing lies about him. You yourself have stated here that he wasn't dismissed from Oxford. But you don't seem to find anything wrong with those making claims. Instead, you're bothered by those stating exactly what you've stated: that Nana wasn't dismissed from Oxford. Isn't that curious?

That is the point about my post. The only reasons these people (from both sides) are doing this are political - like the present writer. That is what I find nauseous. Kpegah is a mischief maker, as I pointed out and as the present writer also did. I condemn him too. But the present writer is wrong in saying Kpegah's suit has NDC's blessings. It does not! Who knows how many skeletons are in the closets of some NDC top guns? I don't believe in NDC politicians either but they are not behind Kpegah in this case!

Yes, you're right that Akufo may not have been brilliant in school but can blossom out later on. My own argument also supports that. But it is one thing defending clients in court from briefs prepared by lawyers in your chambers and another coming out with the brilliant twists yourself and getting named in the Law Reports.

Akufo-Addo is the best person placed to defend himself. All those taking his side or the side of the likes of Kpegah are mischief makers. They don't know all of what they are talking about. But Akufo-Addo knows about himself! Moreover, it is extremely naive to try to pick out any politician, especially a Ghanaian one at that, as a person without reproach. It doesn't matter which party the politician represents. I cannot prove anything bad about Akufo-Addo but I will NEVER go about presenting him as angel nonpareil as this writer is doing!!!

As to why he left that prestigious school & why it is silent on his CV,Oxford never stated that, so you're wrong. Again,the case of him being a drug addict is a true fact which was swept under the carpet by the half educated media men/women like you who are loyal to Akuffo Addo.Further more, he is being challenged to prove his law certificate, where he attended law school & why he was called to the bar alone at a secret meeting of the GLC.He must prove all these.

Akufo Addo has a habit of not coming forward to refute any allegation against him but rely on his supporters to do the talking.
This Academic Credential stuff is beyond his armchair lawyers to deal with, and it`s only him Addo who has the proof to keep Kpegah`s mouth shut.

There is also a huge cacophony about Nana's third class in Economics from our backyard university of Ghana,Legon and I guess Nana would do himself a lot of good to present something to proof otherwise. My attention is drawn to the letter, or recommendation , from Middle Temple which described Nana as BA(HOHS) knowing too well that a third class student is not decorated with apepen (Hons).
