Justice Francis Yaonasu Kpegah, the man who promissed us a thriller in Manila in his suit agaisnt Nana Akuffo Addo challenging his credentials as a lawyer but gave us a "Disappearing act in Keta" needs our prayers and not insults. The picture taken of the former robust dignified Judge coming out of the courtroom on Thursday May 2nd, 2013 will forever remain in my memory. I don't really think Justice Kpegah is in full control of his faculties. Sorry, I am not saying this as an insult but as an empathy from the bottom of my heart. I know his suit against Nana Akuffo Addo was more political and personal vendetta instead of the excuse of seeking the truth and have made a lot of people upset but we should forgive the man, he knew not what he was doing.
First, let those Kpegah supporters go to the Peace FM news item titled, "Photo: Ailing Justice Francis Kpegah in court" Date: 03-May-2013 and take a look at the man before they pour their vindictive, self serving vituperations on me for what I am about to say of Mr Kpegah.
I am not a Physician and my layman view from the picture I saw of this man who served his country well as a Judge for almost forty years tells me that, he is suffering from a lot of health ailments. His hands seem swollen, he looks like he doesn't even know where he was and his supposed chatty "I will knockout Akuffo Addo" and it is going to be "A thriller in Manila" might have been said in his state of dementia if he really said that. It is really sad the NDC Politicians will go this far and recruit a sick old man who should be spending his time seeing his Doctors and resting instead of being paraded in court with his shaggy white hair and beard as if he is a homeless man was really sad.
I understand this man sired eleven children, where are his children who should have groomed their old man before appearing in public like Redd Foxx in the Sanford and Son TV episodes from 1972-1977.? It was so sad to see Justice Kpegah being carried to his car like a sack of potatoes. Nobody can convince me that Kpegah filed this suit without being prompted by some people behind the scenes to serve their own political interest. What riles me is that, these people did not even thought about giving the man a hair cut and trimming his beard for his court appearance and just put that sack of a cloth on him and sent him to court like a hobo.
I pray and appeal to Justice Kpegah's handlers that, if they really care for the man, they should stop this nonsense of appealing his case and instead help him in scheduling his Doctors appointments and making sure he keeps those appointments. Dragging a sick man like this to court just to bloody the nose of a political opponent in a case he cannot win even if he appeals a hundred times is not civilized but cruel to the health of Justice Kpegah. Let the man enjoy whatever life he has left on this Earth in peace and tranquility. He has been used enough.
I appeal to all those who have not seen the pictures of Justice Kpegah at the Supreme court to go and view that picture and all the hatred you might have against the man will dissipate in seconds. Justice Kpegah as a human being did his best even if you think he might have been tribalistic, he served his country as best as he knew how and we should not allow this one episode to become the epithet we will remember him by. The man need our prayers and love and not castigation and insults.
