  There are no comments as Ghanaians are not academic. This has nothing about Mahama, Nana, rawlings not tribe so our half baked literates cannot read not make comments. What a sad reflection of people like Akadu and Okoampa who want to run the affairs of Ghana and when you ask what can they bring to the table then it degenerates into tribalism. Shame on you Ghanaians. Without innovation you are doomed

  If you want quality universities in Ghana, then the schools should have Alumni Foundations. Most universities that I know in my State, here in the US are of top quality. One alumni funded the building of a whole indoor basket ball stadium. The school generates revenue through ticket sales from ball games. Everything is cyclical, if you give students valuable experince while in school, they are likely to give back to the school if they become successful in life.

  It is really true there should be a massive reforms in our tertiary education system. We have to learn from the Americans. I happen to tutor an American high school student some few months ago in Ghana and what I learnt from her was enough to change my mode of presentation. I have ordered for the book she brought for me to help her and its in now. I am going to use it to teach my students in my own small way and try to influence my fellow lecturers to follow suit.

  If you wish to understand the underlining factor for Ashesi`s success as a university, listen to Patrick Awuah´s TED lecture on leadesrhip (or lack of it) in Africa. Next, take a listen to his interview with CNN. Other universities will have to accept the fact that Ashesi is way off and devise their own strategies to catch up.
