The behavior of Ghanaians during the registration and voting reflects on one part the education level of your countrymen, and on the other, the measure of discipline of the average Ghanaian. You can't expect the EC or Afari Gyan to have a whip behind those doing the registration.
Ghanaians, I continue to say, I very selfish, hypocritical and very uncultured. Until they begin to see from the view-point that primes the country over individuals we should brace ourselves for a repeat of many such occurrences in the future.
Don't try to balance your thoughts to suit people: that undermines your objectivity, therefore credibility. Anyone wanting truth will just about stop reading from the third paragraph.

I have read your article and though you tried to pretend to be objective, there is the devil in the letter.

this is a beautiful narration but you failed to bring out the remit of the court.the standard measurement on which the case could be judged.yours have been conjectures suggestions analogies and sometimes subjective conclusions.you and i were not there a very important phrase that bawumia used to buttress the objectivity of the case. he wants to base his submission on the pinksheet which is abvious and graphic narrations of what went there.this case does not demand much subjective submissions.the pink sheet is a summary of what went on.it now needs the justices and ec to assess if the interpretations of bawumia on the pinksheets can be corraborated by the justices and ec.the remit is were there violations yes or no did it impact on the elections yes or no.whatever happend during elections day is summarised on the pinksheet.so the case is on the face of the pink sheet verses the laws of the land and the ec simple.

Did Tsikata not make reference to the fact the even he Bawumiah, the much-touted econometrician, goofed when he and his team of high-priced attorneys put their petition together? And btw,do you realize that many of the temporary election officials have still not been paid for the services rendered during the 2 days of voting? Listen, mistakes are always going to happen in 'big' events such as elections! The "national disgrace", in my view, stems from the fact the people who parade themselves, both at home and abroad, as democrats, would want to elevate petty and silly administrative errors to the level of "malpractices"(well-calculated efforts to commit election fraud and other acts of criminality),"consititutional violations",and whatever terminology that has been used in this frivilous petition. And all this done with the view to disenfrinchise a sizeable portion of the electorate,so that a party and their presidential candidate, who were soundly trounched at the ballot box, can gain political power via the 'backdoor'. That is the the "national disgrace" I would submit!

The writer's attempt to justify the petitioners submission of double, triple and in some cases quadruple pink sheets on the same polling station is very much erroneous. I say this because according to petitioners all the various alleged malpractice s were grouped according to how they appeared on the pink sheets. And witness was specifically asked if he did not use pink sheets of one polling station multiple times as evidence in the various categorizations. And these are sworn testimonies, my friends. If you swear to legal document to be true to the best of your knowledge and it turns out to be false, it affects your credibility and that is all Tsikata is aiming to do and so far he has been successful. In many ways he has portrayed to the court that the witness cannot be reliable i.e swearing to a particular number of affidavits and coming back to say sorry I was wrong initially raises the question 'what else ccould you be wrong about?'

All that the ruling is about is simple. At the end of the day all the cross examinations will have come to nothing.I can`t immagine how a SC can conclude that these are duplications. Bawumia is admitting the DUPLICATIONS to make matters very simple for the simple-minded. I wonder how many people can immagine this simplicity?

I think the writer is wrong if he thinks the "you and I were not there" phrase by Bawumia is contradictory, just because that witness later identified a blank sheet as an over-voting. If it was required of Bawumia or the petitioners to be physically present at polling stations in dispute before they could challenge them, then there would NEVER be any challenge against any election, because it's impossible to be at ALL polling stations at election day.
The pink sheets contain information of what HAPPENED at individual polling stations, and it's that information that's being extrapolated by petitioners to make their case.
However, the writer made what I think is a very important point which Bawumia has so far not brought forth: That the douplecates or triplecates of pick sheet could mean one single sheet could have more than one irregularity, hence appearing more than once in the evidence made available to the respondents and the court.
In my opinion, the petitioners over-voting allegation is proven (regardless of how insignificant of otherwise), because even Tastsu has produced what he claims to be an over voting pink sheet from the Asante Region, even though the purpose was to make a case that the petioners presented ONLY what they saw as over-voting in their opponent's so called stronghold. Presenting an evidence of over-voting in the petitioner's stronghold will not nullify the fact that it was still over-voting, except that the petitioners appear to have done that to protect their votes if those vote were in their favour.
Now if one folloows he premise set by the court, the ONLY question remaining in order to come to a conclusion is that, "are the number of votes found to be over-voting or ommission, administrative "errors", or irregularity big enough to make any impact on the results of the 2012 election?

STOP BEING A FOOL AND A DAMN!!! LIAR. TSATSU WAS CROSS EXAMINING DR BAWUMIAH WHEN LAWYER ADDISON OBJECTED AND BELOW IS WHAT HAPPENED A WEEK AGO TODAY.READ AND SEE HOW A LIAR YOU ARE.
"Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for 3rd Respondents in the ongoing Presidential Election Petition at the Supreme Court, on Monday lost his cool and blurted out to Philip Addison, who represents the petitioners to “shut up”.
Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for National Democratic Congress (NDC), who was in round 4 of his cross examination tussle with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, main witness for the petitioners, could not control his outrage at the interruption by Counsel Philip Addison as he (Addison) rose to object to a question Tsikata had posed to the witness on its relevancy to the issues being determined by the court.
As Counsel Philip Addison rose to make his objection, Tsikata blurted out “would you shut up ” to the amazement of all present in court.
A statement issued by the Communications Directorate of NPP released a few hours after the incident blamed Tsatsu’s actions on “frustration”."

I respect your analysis and views although I have other impressions.
I happen to believe that the outcome of the audit of pink sheets will shed proper light on the permutations and combinations used by the key witness in his analysis. If it turns out that his calculations were based on numbers greater than the sum total of actual individual pink sheets, my impression is that it could be a game changer and the case could be over sooner than you have predicted.
I would however wish to hear the side of the second respondent in as much as we all wish to see administrative and other errors addressed for the sake of future elections. Indeed you are right. We should expect nothing less than literate and numerate election agents to be involved and just as is often done with Census data collection, use the youth to do the collation and recordings after training to avoid such basic errors.

MASSA KOFI, this is a very good piece. You've been brilliant in your analysis and perspicacious in your arguments. Obviously, Dr Bawumiah is a very intelligent and decent man. However, the outcome of the KPMG audit analysis of the Pink Sheets as ordered by the Supreme Court may dramatically enhance or damage his personality and political fortunes if the audit analysis is damnable. That will not only be embarrassing, but he could be vulnerable to the charge of perjury for lying under oath to the Supreme Court.
Methinks, at the moment, Dr Bawumia's reputation and the integrity of NPP's evidence are at stake.

If it turns out that there are actually fewer pink sheets, then it means he has lied to the court and his evidence cannot be relied upon. He is also guilty of perjury.
The court could decide that the case must be stopped on the basis that key evidence which are the pink sheets, is flawed, and the witness of the key petitioner cannot be relied upon.
